A Senate staffer loses their job following the release of a scandalous video allegedly filmed in a Senate hearing room, showcasing explicit content involving two men

A Senate staffer has been fired following the release of a video depicting two men engaging in sexual activity in a Senate hearing room. Authorities are investigating the video, which was released by the Daily Caller.

CNN has not verified the video or the individuals involved. According to The Daily Caller, the employee allegedly worked for Democratic Sen. Ben Cardin. CNN contacted Cardin's office and was referred to a statement by Aidan Maese-Czeropski on LinkedIn.

Maese-Czeropski stated, "It has been a challenging period for me, facing criticism for my personal choices in the midst of pursuing a political agenda. Although I acknowledge past errors in judgment, I am committed to my job and have no intention of disrespecting my workplace.

"I will be looking into the legal recourse available to address these issues," Maese-Czeropski concluded.

Cardins office later released a statement announcing that Maese-Czeropski is "no longer employed by the U.S. Senate."

CNN has reached out to Maese-Czeropski and has not received a response.

CNN contacted the US Capitol Police for confirmation on the individuals in the video, but the police stated they could not provide details at this time. Additionally, CNN reached out to Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer's office but has not received a response.
