Scott Pilgrim makes a triumphant return, encountering the resurgence of the League of Evil Exes. However, amidst this familiar foe lies a new antagonist, which we will unveil here.
Scott Pilgrim is back, ready to confront a fresh wave of darkness. Originally helmed by Edgar Wright and inspired by Bryan Lee O'Malley's graphic novels, Scott Pilgrim vs The World chronicles the journey of an aimless bass player determined to win the affections of a newcomer, all while confronting a horde of malevolent former lovers.
The cast is back for Scott Pilgrim Takes Off, now available on Netflix, directed by BenDavid Grabinski and written by O'Malley. However, things will not go the same way as before with the return of the Evil Exes. There is a new villain in town.
Who is the final boss of Scott Pilgrim Takes Off?
It appears that Scott Pilgrim's ultimate opponent is none other than himself. However, it is not the present Scott but rather an older version of him known as Even Older Scott, who hails from the future and is 47 years old. Prepare for an epic showdown between the two versions of Scott.
In this variation of the final battle in Scott Pilgrim vs the World, a different challenge awaits Scott as he confronts Nega Scott. However, a new obstacle arises in the form of Even Older Scott, who is determined to permanently separate Ramona and Scott.
But why? Well, it turns out that Older Scott, yet another version from the future, was the one responsible for kidnapping Scott in Episode 1. His intention was to keep Scott away from Ramona, as he didn't want them to end up together. Surprisingly, it is revealed that the events of Scott Pilgrim vs. the World actually happened to Older Scott. He went on to marry Ramona, but sadly their union ended in divorce. As a result, Older Scott is now determined to prevent Younger Scott from dating Ramona in the first place.
When this fails, a confrontation erupts involving Scott, Ramona, the League, and an enraged Older Scott. He is incensed that the younger duo persists in staying together and has undergone intense training to ensure their ultimate defeat. Having transported all the primary characters to an alternate dimension and established an Anti-Kiss barrier, he unleashes his fury upon everyone present.
The decision to make Scott the main villain is a brilliant one, as it further develops his flaws that were only briefly mentioned in the movie but explored in-depth in the comics. This series effectively utilizes Scott's shortcomings to create challenges for both Young Scott and Ramona, ultimately leading to their character growth. If you're interested, you can find out what occurs during their ultimate confrontation here.
