Scott Pilgrim vs the World has garnered a dedicated following over the years, solidifying its status as a cult classic. Excitingly, a new anime based on the beloved Scott Pilgrim series is currently in the works. Those who were immersed in nerd culture during the 2010s are likely familiar with the origin of Scott Pilgrim vs the World. It originated as a series of graphic novels before successfully making the leap to the big screen as an action comedy film, helmed by the renowned director Edgar Wright.
The story is not yet complete, as the iconic art style of the graphic novels will now be adapted into an anime. Introducing "Scott Pilgrim Takes Off," a new animated series set to release this fall. Here's everything we have gathered so far.

Scott Pilgrim Takes Off plot: What will happen in the anime?
Scott Pilgrim Takes Off will follow a similar plot as the original graphic novels and 2010 movie Scott Pilgrim vs the World, with some slight changes.
The movie's plot goes like this: "Scott Pilgrim meets Ramona and immediately falls for her. However, when he encounters one of her exes during a band contest, he realizes that he must confront all seven of her exes to win her over."
One aspect that the anime could explore is its alternate ending. Since the graphic novels weren't finished when the movie was made, they have different endings. Thus, the anime can stay more true to the original story's climax.
Additionally, the movie had to condense numerous storylines, villains, and battles from the novels. Therefore, a longer series would provide an opportunity to explore these plot elements in greater detail once again. For a glimpse of what could potentially transpire, take a look at the official animated prequel short film released prior to the movie, titled Scott Pilgrim vs The Animation.
The first clip from Scott Pilgrim takes off was released on September 27, showcasing some of the differences that the anime will take compared to the live-action movie:

Editor's P/S
1. As a long-time fan of Scott Pilgrim, I am thrilled about the upcoming anime adaptation, Scott Pilgrim Takes Off. The original graphic novels and the 2010 movie hold a special place in my heart, and I can't wait to see the story brought to life in a new way. The anime medium is a perfect fit for Scott Pilgrim's vibrant and dynamic world, and I'm excited to see how the team at Science SARU brings the characters and action to life.
2. The return of the original cast is a major draw for me. Michael Cera, Elizabeth Winstead, Kieran Culkin, Anna Kendrick, Brie Larson, and the rest of the gang are all incredibly talented actors, and their performances helped to make the movie so memorable. I'm confident that they will bring the same energy and charisma to the anime series. The addition of Bryan Lee O'Malley and BenDavid Grabinski as writers and Edgar Wright as executive producer also gives me confidence that the anime will stay true to the spirit of the original story while also bringing something new to the table.
