The release date for Saw X, the tenth installment in the mainline Saw franchise, has been moved up from Halloween to September 29. A new Jigsaw image was also released, featuring Tobin Bell returning as John Kramer. In this installment, Jigsaw will unleash his devilish games on a new group of victims. This follows the release of Spiral in 2021, a spin-off film with Chris Rock starring as a detective investigating a copycat Jigsaw killer.
In addition to announcing the release date change, the post also includes a new image of Bell as Jigsaw, who looks more menacing than ever.
Everything We Know About Saw X
Directed by Kevin Greutert, Saw X marks the return of the filmmaker who previously helmed Saw VI in 2009 and Saw 3D in 2010. The highly anticipated sequel features the collaborative efforts of screenwriters Josh Stolberg and Peter Goldfinger, the same duo behind the scripts for 2017's Jigsaw and Spiral. Joining the cast alongside the iconic character portrayed by Bell is Shawnee Smith reprising her role as Amanda. Excitingly, the Saw X ensemble also includes talented newcomers: Synnøve Macody Lund, Steven Brand, Michael Beach, Renata Vaca, Paulette Hernandez, Joshua Okamoto, and Octavio Hinojosa.
The Saw X plot follows Kramer, who is seeking a cure for his terminal cancer in Mexico. However, he discovers a scam targeting vulnerable citizens, prompting him to unleash his Jigsaw persona and seek justice against the con artists. Saw X set photos have shown Bell in character interacting with a young boy, adding to the film's mysteries. As expected in the franchise, the intricate and horrifying traps set by Jigsaw will be a major attraction for viewers. With the release date approaching in just over two months, fans can anticipate the launch of a Saw X trailer that will provide a glimpse into the twisted creativity of Jigsaw's latest creations.
