Sarah Michelle Gellar and Freddie Prinze Jr. are taking their Halloween celebrations to the next level for their two children. Given their shared history of meeting on the set of the 1997 teen horror film I Know What You Did Last Summer, it's only natural that the actors would have a fondness for the spooky holiday.

"The ongoing joke among us actors is that we naturally wear costumes," revealed Buffy the Vampire Slayer star, Sarah Michelle Gellar, 46, during an interview with E! News on October 10. "This year, we're taking it to the next level. We've finally decided to experience Knott's Scary Farm as a family. Since it's their 50th anniversary, it's bound to be a truly haunting and spectacular event."

Gellar and her husband, Freddie Prinze Jr., are thrilled that their children, Charlotte (14) and Rocky (11), are equally excited about the frightful evening. Gellar shared that Charlotte has recently developed a love for everything horror, while Rocky has been indulging in a scary movie marathon.

Gellar and the star of "She's All That," 47, have been married for 21 years. They have collaborated on various projects together, including playing each other's love interests in the Scooby-Doo movies and lending their voices to characters in the Star Wars Rebels animated series from 2014 to 2018.

According to Gellar, relationships require effort, whether they are romantic, business partnerships, or friendships. Without putting in the necessary work, success is unlikely.

The couple applied the same level of dedication to their relationships with their children.

Despite the challenges and learning experiences that come with parenting at each stage, Gellar highlighted that every age has its own beauty. As an example, she celebrated her daughter Charlotte's 14th birthday in August by taking her to watch Ed Sheeran perform at the SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles.

She expressed her gratitude, saying, "I feel incredibly fortunate to have two thriving and remarkable children. We will face all challenges as a united family and find ways to balance work, enjoyment, and all other obligations."

Yet, there is one activity they won't partake in as a family - watching Gellar's intense thriller, Cruel Intentions from 1999. In a lighthearted manner, she shared with We magazine in 2020 that the content is a tad too risqué for her children.

She expressed her concern about showing young children Cruel Intentions, remarking, "I don't think it's a wise choice." On the contrary, Buffy the Vampire Slayer could be an ideal option for a spooky viewing. Speaking to Us, Gellar mentioned, "I believe that children would enjoy Buffy's creativity, regardless of me being a part of it. I think I'm just an extra perk, but I'm certain they would have loved the show anyway. ... My family takes pride in it and they're thrilled. It's such a enjoyable show to binge-watch."
