Samuel L Jackson's Epic Response to Brie Larson Critics Will Leave You Speechless!

Samuel L Jackson brilliantly addresses the sexist backlash faced by Brie Larson, the talented lead actress of Captain Marvel, using a powerful word

Brie Larson has had a significant impact on the MCU and its fans, receiving praise for her portrayal of Captain Marvel and her representation for female audience members. Notwithstanding, some fans have expressed sexist opinions about Larson and her character. However, Larson has found a strong ally in Samuel L. Jackson.

First introduced in the 2019 film Captain Marvel, Larson's portrayal of the superhero served as an origin story and introduction. Since then, she has reprised the role in Avengers: Endgame and Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings. Larson is set to appear as Captain Marvel once again in The Marvels, alongside Teyonah Parris and Iman Vellani. It is likely that the complaints and comments surrounding her character will resurface as Larson returns to the MCU.

In an interview with Rolling Stone, Jackson expressed his thoughts on the criticism directed towards Larson, the star of Captain Marvel. Addressing the sexist comments she faced from fans upon joining the MCU, Jackson stated, "Brie's strength is often underestimated." He candidly referred to those Marvel fans who hurled sexist insults at Larson as "incels," and emphasized that she remains resilient against such negativity. Jackson firmly stated, "She won't allow any of that negativity to break her...These incel individuals, who harbor a disdain for empowered women and resent her outspoken feminism? They simply cannot accept that she is true to herself, genuine, and unapologetic."

Jackson also shared about his friendship with the star of Captain Marvel, which started during the filming of Kong: Skull Island. "Our experience working on Kong wasn't the best for either of us," he mentioned. "However, we became close friends during that tough time." Jackson mentioned how he offered to be a part of Larson's movie, Unicorn Store, where the story revolves around a dropout from art school who receives a mysterious letter offering her a unicorn. Jackson plays The Salesman, the sender of the letter, who guides Larson's character on what she needs to do to obtain the unicorn.

It seems that no matter what challenges the darker side of the MCU fanbase presents to Larson, Jackson believes she can handle it. With that being said, Larson will likely continue to be an integral part of the current phase of the MCU and possibly future ones. Whether they like it or not, fans who have personal issues with Larson, her beliefs, or her portrayal of Captain Marvel can expect to see Larson frequently in the future.

The Marvels hits theaters on November 10, 2023.
