Riyad Mahrez has finalized his transfer to Al Ahli from Manchester City for a fee of £30m. This comes after his successful five-year tenure at the Etihad Stadium. In order to complete the move, Mahrez was granted permission to skip City's pre-season tour of Japan and South Korea.
The Algerian winger, aged 32, has recently agreed to a three-year deal with the Saudi Pro League team.
Since joining City in 2018 after leaving Leicester, Mahrez has achieved great success, winning four Premier League titles, two FA Cups, three Carabao Cups, and the prestigious Champions League with Manchester City.
Mahrez, who played a vital role in Leicester's successful Premier League title-winning season in 2015/16, joined the Etihad in the summer of 2018 for a club-record fee of £60m. Expressing his gratitude, the 33-year-old, who will celebrate his birthday in February, described representing Manchester City as a great honor and privilege.
