Allan Saint-Maximin has recently made a move from Newcastle to Al Ahli, making him the newest addition to the Saudi Pro League.

According to our sources, Al Ahli, a club operated by Saudi Arabia's Public Investment Fund (PIF), which also holds ownership of Newcastle, has reportedly paid an approximate fee of £23m.

Saint-Maximin expressed his gratitude to the Newcastle fans through a heartfelt social media message on Saturday. Following in the footsteps of Riyad Mahrez, the 26-year-old has joined Al Ahli and will now join forces with the former Manchester City winger and ex-Liverpool striker Roberto Firmino in an attacking lineup.

Saint-Maximin scored 13 goals in 124 games and registered 21 assists after joining Newcastle in August 2019 from Nice.

During the previous season, he played in 25 Premier League matches, helping the club secure a fourth-place finish and qualify for the Champions League. He also contributed in six Carabao Cup matches, leading the team to the iconic Wembley Stadium.

In a heartfelt post on social media, Saint-Maximin expressed his deep affection for Newcastle. Despite having tempting opportunities to leave during challenging times, he had already fallen in love with the club. His determination to stay and support his team was fueled by the desire to prevent Premier League relegation, as it held immense significance for him.

"Despite the doubts that may have lingered during those difficult times, I maintained unwavering faith in this club. The remarkable point we find ourselves at today is truly a breathtaking sight. Departing from Newcastle in the way it was meant to be feels like an incredible achievement, and it stands as my most cherished reward because I played a significant role in making it happen.

"Although this chapter has come to a close, the narrative is far from over. Newcastle has become my home, and I will continue to wholeheartedly support it, always striving to be its most steadfast advocate."

Newcastle has recently secured the services of Harvey Barnes, who netted 13 goals for Leicester in the previous season. Barnes is anticipated to fill the void left by Saint-Maximin on the left wing.

Barnes achieved 187 appearances for Leicester and secured the FA Cup title, all while progressing through the club's academy.

Despite Leicester's relegation from the Premier League, Barnes accomplished a personal career-best by scoring 13 goals for the club last season.
