Rihanna's Bold Move: Stepping Down as CEO of Savage x Fenty Amid 2nd Pregnancy, Introduces New Chief to Amplify Brand's Growth

Rihanna, the renowned singer behind the successful Savage x Fenty lingerie brand, is gracefully stepping down as the company's CEO after close to five years. In an interview with Vogue Business on June 22nd, the 35-year-old artist expressed her gratitude for the brand's significant influence on the industry, stating that their vision has resonated with consumers and that there are even more exciting opportunities on the horizon for Savage x Fenty.

Rihanna, currently expecting her second child with partner ASAP Rocky, established Savage x Fenty in 2018 with the support of investors including LVMH.

During the launch party in May 2018, the Oceans 8 star expressed her excitement about pushing boundaries and creating a lingerie line that resonates with women. She aims to make people look and feel good while encouraging them to have fun experimenting with different styles. In her eyes, there are no strict rules when it comes to lingerie, as cuteness and edginess can coexist harmoniously within the same collection. Ultimately, the line challenges individuals to step out of their comfort zones while staying true to themselves.

Rihanna has chosen Hillary Super as her successor at Savage X Fenty, starting from Monday, June 26. Super, former CEO of Anthropologie Group, expressed her excitement about joining the brand, emphasizing its strong presence and dedication to promoting inclusivity and fearlessness in the lingerie and apparel industry.

Rihanna, in addition to owning Fenty beauty brand, will remain in a leadership position as the executive chair for the brand.

Having originated from Barbados, she took a step further to broaden the Savage line by introducing an athleisure range to its existing offerings last year.

"If we are going to establish ourselves as a lingerie company and broaden our reach, all of our designs must adhere to that foundation," she expressed in a November 2022 interview with In Style. "We aim to incorporate our signature details into athletic wear, utilizing advanced fabrics to enhance all the right curves. Anticipating a desire for snapback post-pregnancy, I made it a priority to ensure our leggings deliver on their intended purpose."

In her personal life, Rihanna revealed her pregnancy for the second time during her halftime performance at Super Bowl LVII in February.

According to a source, it was a tremendous honor for her to have this opportunity, and the added excitement of announcing her pregnancy made it even more magical. Both Rihanna and ASAP Rocky felt that there was no better way to share this special news than on stage during the Super Bowl halftime show. In May 2022, after being together for two years, Rihanna and Rocky joyfully welcomed their first child, a son named RZA.
