Heist Kitty: Cats Go a Stray is a game that lives up to its name, featuring cats causing 'cat-tastrophe' and engaging in all sorts of wacky activities. In Heist Kitty, causing chaos is one of the objectives, as players take on the role of a cat that can join either the Meowfia or the Purr-lice. However, the game is full of unexpected surprises, particularly when it comes to how cats move around the open-world multiplayer environment. Heist Kitty's feline protagonists can drive cars, shoot out of cannons, and even soar through the air on a giant fish, all while exhibiting typical cat behavior such as purring, growling, and scaling walls.
Recently, Game Rant interviewed the developers at LeMeowt Games LLC, Carmen and Brian Rivers, as well as Excalibur Games producer Amber Silcock, about Heist Kitty's unique cat traversal mechanics and the influence of games like GTA on this open-world multiplayer game with single-player capability. Silcock also revealed exciting future plans for Heist Kitty, including the addition of Fast and Furious-style racetracks after the game's launch.
Heist Kitty's Cat Abilities, Traversal Mechanics, And GTA Influences
The influence of games like GTA is evident in Heist Kitty's gameplay when it comes to cats driving cars, but Brian, the creator, emphasizes the differences between the two. As a family-oriented company, their goal is to make the game fun, humorous, and kid-friendly while still sticking to the spirit of the heist concept. One of the significant distinctions is Heist Kitty's various traversal mechanics, which include jumping through cat cannons, landing on trampolines, swinging through the air, and riding platforms. This provides players with more of a platformer experience, which is not commonly found in GTA missions.
Cats may exhibit some surprising abilities such as turning on taps or knocking over objects, but they still retain their typical and often humorous behaviors. One of these behaviors is purring, something that most cat lovers enjoy. Additionally, Heist Kitty offers players the opportunity to express their cat's emotions and create custom cats in this family-friendly co-op game. While players can choose to be a "good" cat, they also have the option to cause chaos by driving cars, embodying a mischievous "bad" cat. Looking ahead, Heist Kitty has plans to introduce fast and furious-style racing tracks to the game, adding an exciting new dimension to the already entertaining gameplay.
When asked about Heist Kitty's future plans, Silcock revealed more about its post-launch milestones, including plans for new content like racetracks. As Silcock put it,
We have exciting plans to expand our content with new racetracks and other features. Our team is working hard to bring these updates to our players, and we're also open to suggestions from our community.
In a recent interview, Brian shared some details about the upcoming racetracks in Heist Kitty. He expressed his enthusiasm for the racing theme, which is inspired by the Fast and Furious franchise. He also teased the name "Dom Tortie," a clever play on words that combines the name of the franchise's main character, Dominic Toretto, with the tortoiseshell cat breed.
While we can't reveal too much about the racetrack content just yet, we can say that it will be a perfect fit for our open-world cat simulator game. With its focus on family and the Meowfia cat faction, we're confident that players will love this new addition. Stay tuned for more updates!
