Consequently, the game is poised to captivate and satisfy the masses upon its highly anticipated release this autumn.
Mortal Kombat 1 made adjustments to the gameplay speed based on fan feedback during its demo and test periods. NetherRealm Studios has actively engaged with its fan base, providing new character trailers and detailed information about the game. Players have had opportunities to try out the game early, and their feedback has already had an impact. In June, Mortal Kombat 1 was available for early play at Summer Game Fest. For those unable to attend, NetherRealm offered digital access later that month during the game's first stress test for online modes. This allowed players to experience the game before its scheduled release in Fall and provide valuable feedback. The input from players at EVO has been instrumental in driving important changes to the game.
EVO, the premiere annual fighting game tournament, previously announced that Mortal Kombat 1 would be available for players to try out at the venue, offering them an early glimpse of the game. SonicFox, a renowned competitive fighting game player and six-time EVO Champion, recently had the opportunity to play NetherRealm's upcoming fighter at the event. He praised the enhanced movement in Mortal Kombat 1 and shared how it has incorporated the dash block mechanic from MK9. This caught the attention of Ed Boon, the co-creator and director of Mortal Kombat, who confirmed these changes.
Showing his gratitude, the director of Mortal Kombat 1 thanked everyone for their suggestions. Boon also encouraged those who are testing these early game builds to provide feedback to the development team, as it will help enhance the game before its release this fall. Boon concluded his tweet by expressing his aspiration to make this Mortal Kombat installment the best it can be, acknowledging that accomplishing this goal is only possible with the valuable input of fans.
NetherRealm Studios and Boon received praise from many fans for actively addressing their concerns and promptly making necessary changes. Following EVO, players will have another opportunity to experience the game through the beta test of Mortal Kombat 1 in August. The beta test will include access to the game's online multiplayer and a condensed version of MK1's story mode. This test will run from August 18-21, giving players a chance to try the game a month before its official release. Mortal Kombat 1 will be available on PC, PS5, Switch, and Xbox Series X starting September 19.
