A new feature has been introduced in World of Warcraft that allows players to purchase an item called Paracausal Flakes. This item greatly simplifies the process of transferring currency between different characters. The addition of this item was recently made through a hotfix and is now available to all players.
Paracausal Flakes serve as the main currency obtained by completing Time Rifts, which is a prominent feature in World of Warcraft Patch 10.1.5, titled Fractures in Time. By restoring the timeline alongside Soridormi and Chromie, players can earn Paracausal Flakes and use them to buy various items such as minions, mounts, cosmetics, and collectibles.
Players can now conveniently transfer Paracausal Flakes among their characters using the Paracausal Crate. This item, bound to the Blizzard account, can be obtained from Shi Everbreeze, the Pandaren vendor for weapons and armor in Thaldraszus, for the cost of 500 Paracausal Flakes. Once acquired, it can be traded to any other character on the same account and opened to reclaim the full amount of 500 Paracausal Flakes. This feature allows players to consolidate their currency and easily obtain the World of Warcraft mounts or other desired rewards. Surprisingly, the Paracausal Crate was introduced just a week after the launch of Fractures in Time, indicating the developer's immediate implementation of the idea. As many players are still actively participating in Time Rifts in World of Warcraft, it is an opportune time to earn the desired rewards.
Many players in World of Warcraft are delighted to see this quality of life feature introduced so quickly. Time Rifts offer a multitude of incredible rewards, but the repetitive task of farming Paracausal Flakes on one character can become tedious over time. With the Paracausal Crate, players can now switch between alternate characters to complete high-reward weekly quests and obtain their desired cosmetics at a much faster pace.
However, this newly introduced item raises the question of why World of Warcraft handles currencies in its current manner. Numerous players have been urging Blizzard for years to make all currencies account-wide. The new Trading Post feature, where all characters share a common wallet of Traders Tender, demonstrates that the technology for such a change is possible. Although there are currently no plans by World of Warcraft to implement this change in the immediate future, these players remain hopeful that it will happen someday. In the meantime, they can find solace in the fact that their Paracausal Flakes can be easily transferred between characters.
World of Warcraft is available now for PC.
