Revolutionary Change Demanded by Diablo 4 Players for Enhanced Gaming Experience

Diablo 4 players are urging Blizzard for a major quality-of-life update in the early access stage of the game

Players of Diablo 4 in early access have raised concerns about the revamped inventory system, particularly the amount of space that gems occupy. Unlike previous iterations of the game, gems now take up a full slot of inventory space, similar to equipment pieces. This means that even a small collection of gems can quickly eat into inventory space that would be better suited to equipment. As a result, players are calling on Blizzard to address this issue and provide a solution that allows them to reclaim some of their inventory space.

It should be noted that gems of the same type and quality will stack, reducing the amount of space they take up in a player's inventory. However, gems of different qualities will not stack, meaning that even small variations in quality can result in additional slots being taken up. This applies to all gem types, including Amethysts, Diamonds, Rubies, Sapphires, and Topaz, along with their corresponding Crude, Chipped, standard, Flawless, and Royal variants.

A recent post on Reddit by user AndrewWOz has sparked a conversation within the active Diablo 4 community. Titled "Please give us a gem pouch," the post highlights the issue of gems taking up too much inventory space. While the user expresses enjoyment playing Diablo 4, they note that changing how gems are stored is the only improvement they would make at present.

To address this issue, the user suggests removing gems from the inventory and assigning them to a separate tab, similar to how elixirs and quest items are organized. By treating gems as resources rather than individual items, players could focus on collecting equipment and weapons without worrying about cluttered inventory.

Blizzard's decision to keep gems in players' inventories is understandable, as it ensures that gems are easily accessible and visible alongside armor and equipment. This also ensures that players are aware of how gems work, as keeping them in a separate tab may lead to confusion or lack of knowledge. While some players may find this frustrating, it's unlikely to be a top priority for Blizzard given the franchise's history with inventory management issues. However, it's possible that Blizzard will take note of player feedback and consider making changes to the gem system in future updates or expansions for Diablo 4.

Diablo 4 releases June 6 on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
