Revival Alert: Pokemon Scarlet and Violet Tera Raids Return with a Bang!

Pokemon Scarlet and Violet Tera Raids are making a comeback after being canceled due to player concerns Game Freak is set to revive the popular feature, allowing trainers to once again battle and catch rare Pokemon

Pokemon Scarlet and Violet Tera Raids are making a comeback, as Game Freak has decided to reintroduce them despite complaints from players about crashes during the events. The raids were initially suspended in late May due to numerous fan reports of consistent crashes. Although the latest version of the games, version 1.3.1, was released after the raids were postponed, it is unclear whether this update resolved any issues related to the events. The canceled raids included battles with Great Tusk, Iron Treads, and Chesnaught.

Game Freak has finally resolved the technical issues that were causing the Pokemon Scarlet and Violet Tera Raids to crash the games. All three events are set to return on June 16 and will be available until June 18, ending at 11:59pm UTC (4:59pm PST). Unfortunately, this is just one episode in a series of technical problems that have affected the games since their release in November 2022. Game Freak has released five updates in the last seven months to address these issues, but some of the fixes have caused other problems. For example, the 1.2.0 update in late February introduced a bug that could corrupt game saves.

Even though the latest Pokemon games have been plagued with technical issues, including a severe glitch that wasn't fixed until a month before the Tera Raids started causing crashes, they have still managed to achieve tremendous success. Despite the suspect performance and bizarre glitches that players continue to encounter, the games sold an impressive 10 million copies in just three days, making them the fastest-selling software on any Nintendo system. While Scarlet and Violet have received low ratings on Metacritic due to their technical flaws, even the harshest critics have praised the games for the incredible freedom they offer players in their open world.

Pokemon Scarlet and Violet are available now on Nintendo Switch.
