The Impact of Revitalized Interest
Thanks to a revitalized interest in a 2022 film, an actor has found himself a part of two of this month's biggest streaming hits. The holiday season is always a big time for movie watching, as people have more time on their hands thanks to time off from work and school. While a lot of that watching is reserved for holiday classics, a less well-known project has found its way to the top of the streaming charts this season. One underrated movie ended up getting a surge of viewers and interest and has ultimately made one actor's year of success even better.

In the age of streaming, projects can be discovered and gain popularity years after their release. Social media also plays a role in this, as projects become more and more popular through word of mouth on various platforms. This has been the case for one movie that came out in 2022 that didn't initially get much traction but is now one of the biggest streaming hits of this holiday season.

The December Streaming Hits
Gran Turismo and Violent Night are among December 2023's biggest streaming hits. Gran Turismo, which tells the true story of a teenager named Jann Mardenborough who goes from playing a racing video game to being a professional race car driver, is currently #3 on Netflix's chart. 2022's Christmas action comedy, Violent Night, has been steady at and around #2 on Amazon Prime all month, despite coming out a year ago. Though completely different in story and genre, these two films have one big thing in common. Both of these films star David Harbour, an American actor with decades of acting experience.
