World of Warcraft: Dragonflight players can look forward to an upcoming quality-of-life update for their user interface. This update is currently available for testing on the public test realm (PTR) and players are encouraged to provide feedback to Blizzard before it goes live. With the launch of the Dragonflight expansion in 2022, the default user interface received its biggest overhaul since the game's debut in 2004. Previously, players had to rely on add-ons like Bartender and ElvUI to fully customize their interface. While add-ons are still popular, the World of Warcraft development team has made significant strides to make the standard user interface customizable without the need for additional software. The latest PTR build includes even more updates to the user interface, with one noticeable change right from the start.
In the upcoming Patch 10.1.5, Fractures in Time, players can expect to see a change in the color of the micro menu buttons, as reported by Wowhead. While the release date is yet to be announced, players can test it out on the PTR along with other quality-of-life updates that will be implemented in the future. Currently, the micro menu buttons in Patch 10.1 are gray, but they can be customized according to players' preferences. In the past, the micro menu had colored buttons and a character portrait on the left side, but they disappeared when Dragonflight was introduced. However, Patch 10.1.5 will bring back these features with a new color palette, while retaining the same basic functionalities as before.
The grayscale user interface option is not currently available for selection on the PTR, disappointing those who prefer it. However, players are urged to give feedback on both Patch 10.1.5 and upcoming updates. Despite being deemed a minor patch, Patch 10.1.5 introduces noteworthy features and quality-of-life upgrades. It will be interesting to see what further interface enhancements Blizzard has in store for World of Warcraft.
World of Warcraft is available now for PC.
