The long-awaited return of the Fortnite Chapter 1 map has finally arrived for fans. In the latest season, Chapter 4 Season 5, players will have the opportunity to explore the beloved Chapter 1 map with exciting weekly transformations. This condensed season will introduce weekly hotfixes, ensuring that the island evolves and changes throughout the next month without the need for additional downloads.
On November 9, the island will resemble the one from Chapter 1 Season 6. The following week, it will transform into a mash-up of Seasons 7 and 8 from the same chapter. Finally, in the last week of the season, the island will be similar to what players may have experienced during Chapter 1 Season 9 and 10, or X, as it was called at the time.
The well-loved Tilted Towers makes a comeback once again. This complicates discussing the map changes on launch day, as some of them will be short-lived and soon replaced with completely different new features.
The number of places of interest (POIs) on the Fortnite map has undergone a significant change. In Chapter 1, there were a total of 18 POIs spread across two biomes, grass and desert. These beloved locations, such as Tilted Towers, Greasy Grove, and Retail Row, have now made a comeback and can be explored once again.
As the season progresses and weekly updates are implemented, the island will witness the arrival of new POIs and biomes at an unprecedented pace. Exciting additions such as a snow biome in Week 3 (November 16 hotfix) and the introduction of Jetpacks for convenient travel in Week 4 (November 23) will further transform the gameplay experience.
The island has been adjusted for Zero Build players, considering the mode that was not present in Chapter 1. Changes include the addition of ascenders and ziplines, allowing players to navigate without building mechanics. This is crucial as certain areas of the map would otherwise be inaccessible.
While the majority of the island remains familiar to players, Epic has made certain modifications to align with the contemporary context of Fortnite. This includes the inclusion of sprinting, sliding, and mantling abilities.
Jump into Fortnite OG today and expect to find the map changes, and the weapon and loot pool changes, to be fast and furious.

As a passionate Fortnite fan, I am thrilled about the return of the Chapter 1 map in Chapter 4 Season 5. This brings back fond memories of the early days of the game, when I spent countless hours exploring the map and discovering new locations. I am particularly excited to see Tilted Towers again, as it was one of my favorite places to land. I am also looking forward to seeing how the map evolves over the course of the season, with new POIs and biomes being added each week.
This is a great opportunity for new players to experience the classic Fortnite map, and for veteran players to revisit their favorite locations. I am confident that this season will be a lot of fun, and I can't wait to see what Epic Games has in store for us.
