In Resident Evil 2 (2019), players will come across locked doors in the Raccoon City Police Station that are marked with symbols representing playing card suits. To gain access to the rewards or shortcuts behind these doors, players must find the corresponding key. One of these keys is known as the diamond key.

After triggering a cutscene by interacting with the parking garage door, players will continue their journey by heading west towards the morgue. During this route, players will encounter a kennel for the first time. It is recommended to take a moment to eliminate the infected dogs still confined in the cages to prevent them from escaping and attacking later on. Additionally, players should not forget to collect the high-powered gunpowder located in the kennel's sink, near the eastern door.

When inside the morgue, players should thoroughly search the two rows of temperature-controlled containers for useful items. In the southern row, the second container closest to the door holds a red herb, while the container farthest away contains a flash-bang underneath a zombie's head. Moving on to the northern row, players will find the diamond key on the second container closest to the door, which is unfortunately occupied by a zombie. As soon as the key is obtained, both the zombie in the container and the one near the door will come back to life, so be prepared to engage in combat.

Armed with the key, players can make their way back to the shooting range where they will be able to unlock the diamond door leading to the armory. As players enter the shooting range, they will be taken aback to discover that the once lifeless officers at the back of the range are now up on their feet, moving menacingly towards them. However, players need not worry as they can take down these reanimated corpses. Once the zombies are dispatched, players can safely retrieve the red herb and film roll that are hidden behind the first diamond door.

The diamond key also opens another door in the east wing of the station on the second floor, near the lounge where the unicorn medallion was discovered. As players make their way back to the main hall, they will come across the Lieutenant who has succumbed to his injuries and must either be eliminated or avoided. Moving on to the second diamond door, players can now use the key to unlock the linen room. Inside, they will find gunpowder and the second lock box. Solving this box will provide players with a piece for the keypad located in the weapons locker.

With all the relevant doors now open, you have the option to either store or discard the diamond key indefinitely.
