Call of Duty Season 1 start times
The first full season of Modern Warfare 3 is on the horizon, with a likely arrival date of December 6. Updates typically go live at 9 AM PT / 12 PM ET / 5 PM BST across all platforms.
What to expect from Season 1
The upcoming season of Modern Warfare 3 and Warzone is set to introduce a revamped battle pass system, offering players the opportunity to progress through levels and unlock a wide array of new weapons and cosmetic items. Typically, seasonal passes also feature the addition of a new operator along with two DLC weapons.
Moreover, players can look forward to engaging in special seasonal events and tackling fresh camo challenges as part of the new Call of Duty season. With the holiday season on the horizon, there is speculation that an exciting winter- or Christmas-themed event could be in store. Furthermore, data miners have hinted at the possibility of a crossover with The Walking Dead, which could potentially bring characters like Rick Grimes and Michonne into the fold as new operators.
Modern Warfare 3
At launch, the entire map pool consisted of remastered maps from the original Modern Warfare 2. Season 1 is now introducing brand-new 6v6 maps, including Meat and Greece, which have been revealed in a first look shared by Activision.
In addition to these new maps, Gunfight is making a return as Call of Duty's 2v2 mode on small maps. The map pool for the mode will feature a new Gunfight map called Training Facility.
Warzone
In Season 1, the Zombies storyline will progress with the introduction of a mysterious new gateway to explore. Players can look forward to the addition of Dark Aether Rifts challenges and a new category of unique acquisition schematics to unlock. Additionally, the V-R11 Wonder Weapon from the original Call of Duty: Black Ops will make its return.
Warzone
Modern Warfare 3 will be fully integrated with Warzone in Season 1, replacing Al Mazrah with the Urzikstan map. Urzikstan boasts 11 named points of interest and is currently available to play in MW3's Zombies mode. Players can expect new ways to navigate Warzone, including horizontal ziplines and a drivable train. Furthermore, there is a new Gulag for Urzikstan, featuring some randomization such as a nighttime version where players are equipped with night-vision goggles.
Upon the release of Season 1, players will have the opportunity to play in Urzikstan for both battle royale and Plunder modes, joining the Vondel and Ashika Island Resurgence maps. Explore the Urzikstan map and experience the new Gulag.
Modern Warfare 3 has undergone recent updates focused on weapon balancing, reducing the power of assault rifles and strengthening guns in the submachine gun class. In addition, Sledgehammer Games has revealed upcoming changes, including the addition of a stamina bar for multiplayer matches.
