Red Devils' Transfer Battle: Manchester United Locked in Negotiations with Inter Milan over £51m Andre Onana

Manchester United is eager to acquire goalkeeper Andre Onana, but Inter Milan remains steadfast in their £51m (€60m) asking price. Despite ongoing discussions, a potential deal would require a renegotiation of the fee and structure.

All parties are still determined to complete the transfer following the rejection of Manchester United's initial offer of £38.5m (€45m). However, sources close to the player claim that there is a mutual desire amongst all parties to find a resolution before Onana is scheduled to join Inter for pre-season training on July 13th. Onana has expressed his strong desire to join Old Trafford and be reunited with his former Ajax manager, Erik ten Hag, who is actively pushing for the move to happen for the 27-year-old goalkeeper.

Maguire set for talks with Ten Hag

In the aftermath of David De Gea's departure announcement and failure to reach an agreement on a new contract, Manchester United are actively exploring the possibility of signing Urawa Red Diamonds' Japanese goalkeeper, Zion Suzuki.

Manchester United's captain, Harry Maguire, has plans to engage in discussions regarding his role and position in Ten Hag's plans upon his return for pre-season.

Maguire, aged 30, completed a transfer to Manchester United in 2019 for a remarkable £80m, setting a new record for the highest fee ever paid for a defender. However, his involvement on the pitch was limited to just 16 games during the previous season. Presently, the centre-back still has two years left on his existing contract.

United is seeking to raise funds by offloading players this summer. Fulham has shown interest in midfielder Fred, who is in the last year of his contract.

If any players leave, the club will explore the market for replacements, including Fiorentina's Sofyan Amrabat, among several midfielders that United is currently scouting.

United remain in talks with Atalanta over Hojlund

Manchester United continue their negotiations with Atalanta regarding the acquisition of forward Rasmus Hojlund. Despite a discrepancy in valuation, there is optimism within United that an agreement can be reached, as indications from Hojlund's representatives suggest his desire to join Old Trafford.

United is also considering the option of including Amad Diallo in the deal, possibly on a loan basis. However, it is believed that Ten Hag prefers to assess Diallo during the pre-season and then make a decision.

Diallo joined United from Atalanta in 2021 and spent last season on loan at Sunderland, who he helped guide into the Sky Bet Championship play-offs.
