Record-Breaking £32m Transfer: Tino Livramento Joins Newcastle United, Shocking Football Fans!

Newcastle set to secure Tino Livramento for £32m from Southampton, marking their third major signing this summer The highly-talented defender, recovering from a year-long ACL injury, joins Sandro Tonali (£55m) and Harvey Barnes (£39m) as the club prepares for the upcoming Premier League season Stay updated on Newcastle's pre-season schedule, results, and the latest transfer news with Sky Sports

Newcastle is on the verge of signing Southampton defender Tino Livramento, who will join fellow summer recruits Harvey Barnes and Sandro Tonali at St James' Park. The agreement involves a £32 million fee, which Newcastle will pay upfront, followed by additional performance-related bonuses.

Southampton is content with the valuation they have received for Livramento, which they believe could potentially reach £40m. Eddie Howe expresses his lack of information regarding Newcastle's interest in Livramento, but acknowledges his admiration for the full-back.

When asked to confirm reports during a news conference on Friday, Howe expressed his lack of knowledge on the matter, saying, "I'm afraid I'm not entirely sure about that. Let's see what unfolds in the coming days, but I must say, I am fond of the player."

In our previous report, we mentioned that despite being relegated to the Premier League, Southampton had made no indications of offering discounts on their players.

Saints have remained steadfast in their valuations, offloading Mohamed Salisu to Monaco for £17.2m, and turning down subsequent offers for James Ward-Prowse and Romeo Lavia from West Ham and Liverpool respectively.

Several weeks ago, Southampton dismissed Newcastle's £30m bid for Livramento.

Newcastle is poised to make another shrewd acquisition with the addition of Livramento, further bolstering Eddie Howe's squad for the upcoming season. The 20-year-old fullback joined Southampton from Chelsea in the summer of 2021 for a fee of £5m.

Livramento's breakout season, which had been impressive so far, was cut short in April 2022 due to an ACL injury. This unfortunate event resulted in the England U21 international being sidelined for over a year. After 392 days, Livramento made his return to the field against Brighton at the Amex, which was where he initially suffered the injury. He appeared as a substitute in two matches during the previous season.
