Reacher Season 2: The Time Gap from Margrave Revisited

Jack Reacher has returned, this time finding himself in a new town and attempting to keep a low profile. Season 2 of Reacher continues the journey of the nomad, now with a different storyline – but how much time has passed since Margrave? The first season of the popular Amazon Prime Video series adapted the first book in Lee Child's series, following a former military policeman as he wanders the United States as a self-proclaimed drifter, carrying only a toothbrush in his pocket.

Despite his vow to navigate the states on his own terms, he ended up in Margrave investigating his brother's murder and putting a stop to a drug cartel. After leaving Margrave, Reacher Season 2 follows his journey to New York as he works to solve the killings of his former comrades. Fans will notice that Reacher appears more muscular than ever before, prompting the question: when does Season 2 take place?

Reacher Season 2 timeframe

It’s been two years, 17 months, and 19 days since Jack Racher left Margrave from Season 1 to Season 2.

The second season of Reacher takes place after the first, deviating from the chronological order of the books by adapting Child's eleventh installment. This change also explains why Alan Ritchson appears noticeably larger and more muscular. The season begins with an unidentified helicopter disposing of a body in a snowy forest, leading fans to reunite with Reacher as he assists a mother in Arkansas who is being carjacked and forced to withdraw money from an ATM. After helping the woman, Reacher discovers a distress call from Nealey in his bank account.

When he meets her in New York, he finally understands why. Nealey remarks that it's been a long time since Margrave, and in typical Reacher fashion, he knows exactly how long. They then delve into the troubling news that their former colleagues from the 110th MP Special Investigations Unit are being found dead.

Using the crime scene photos as clues, Reacher quickly realizes that these deaths were not coincidental. Someone is intentionally targeting and killing them.
