The model is expected to sell for up to $1 million.

Julien's Auctions presents a model designed by the late Carlo Rambaldi featuring incredibly expressive movements. The model's nostrils can open and close, its veins pulsate, and cables enable movement in its eyes, lips, eyebrows, forehead, and tongue.

Rambaldi's personal collection included this model, along with an animatronic figure of E.T. that was auctioned by Juliens Auctions for $2.56 million last November. His daughter, Daniela Rambaldi, shared that her father drew inspiration for E.T.'s expressive blue eyes from their family cat "Kikka," according to the auction house.

Spielberg's 1982 film, which features the story of the homesick E.T. and his bond with Elliott, the boy who finds him, received near-universal acclaim and was nominated for nine Oscars, ultimately winning four.
