The Shibuya Incident showcased some of the most formidable characters in Jujutsu Kaisen. From Gojo's incredible 299-second gamble to Sukuna's takedown of Mahoraga, the battles were truly breathtaking. However, there were also heartbreaking moments as beloved characters faced tragic deaths.
As the arc unfolded, it prompted speculation about which characters would make it onto a top 10 list of the most powerful. Whether it's Kenjaku or Yuji Itadori, there are numerous strong contenders for such a ranking.
Ranking the strongest Jujutsu Kaisen characters of the Shibuya Incident
10) Megumi Fushiguro

Leading the pack of formidable Jujutsu Kaisen characters in the midst of the Shibuya Incident is none other than Megumi Fushiguro. As part of the sorcerer team pitted against the unexpectedly formidable Dagon, they encountered significant challenges post-transformation by the Curse and nearly overpowered Megumi, Maki, Nanami, and Naobito.
Megumi was the one who forcefully opened a hole in Dagon's barrier, allowing them to escape. Although things changed when Toji arrived, it was ultimately Megumi's quick thinking that made it possible. Furthermore, he successfully kept Sukuna occupied by summoning Mahoraga, a feat he had never accomplished before.
9) Yuji Itadori

Yuji Itadori, the protagonist of the series, emerged as one of the most powerful characters in Jujutsu Kaisen. The Shibuya Incident brought about significant growth and development in him, particularly through his intense battles with Choso and Mahito, which further amplified his already impressive abilities.
These battles revealed previously unseen aspects of Yuji's character, such as his near surrender after Nobara's death and his sudden awakening that terrified Mahito into fleeing in the opposite direction.
At the end of it all, Yuji has grown into a powerful sorcerer who will improve still.
8) Todo Aoi
In Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2, Todo Aoi has once again emerged as a familiar and comforting presence in the midst of all the chaos. Demonstrating his formidable strength, he played a pivotal role in the events at Shibuya, revitalizing Yuji's fighting resolve and turning the tide of battle in a remarkable way.
He was untouchable and effortlessly outplayed Mahito until he lost his arm. Despite losing his left arm, his clever distraction tactic allowed Yuji to land a deadly Black Flash and inflict massive damage on the Curse. It's a pity that he retired from battle after the Shibuya Incident, as the world of Jujutsu lost an incredibly skilled sorcerer.
7) Kento Nanami

Kento Nanami, from Shibuya, met an unfortunate end but remains one of the strongest characters in Jujutsu Kaisen. He bravely stepped in to help Nobara in her fight against the despicable Haruta Shigemo. In his typical fashion, Nanami dominated the battle and struck fear into the villain, ultimately defeating him for his wrongdoings. He also played a major role in holding off the evolved Dagon and landed some powerful hits as well.
However, even Kento Nanami is human and finally succumbs to his injuries, but he still exorcises multiple just before being dispatched by Mahito.
6) Mahito

Mahito's mischievous actions in Shibuya secure his position as one of the most formidable characters in Jujutsu Kaisen. If his already bothersome and formidable abilities weren't enough, he also possesses a hidden transformation. His new form, the Instant Spirit Body of Distorted Killing, embodies the true power of his soul and is incredibly formidable.
5) Kenjaku
Resilient and unyielding on the outside, he underwent a drastic transformation in that state. Mahito was responsible for the ruthless killings of Nobara and Nanami, casually ending their lives and reveling in his own actions. However, his demise came when Kenjaku intervened, leading to his confrontation with Yuji.

Kenjaku, the antagonist of the series, rightfully earns a spot among the strongest characters in Jujutsu Kaisen. His cunning plan led to the vulnerable position and sealing away of Gojo Satoru. He successfully devised a way to isolate the Six Eyes User and used the emotion attached to the stolen body to deceive him.
After being sealed, he stayed out of the action until Mahito was defeated. Then, he made a dramatic return, teaming up with Uraume to face off against Yuji, Noritoshi, Panda, Nishimiya, Mai, Miwa, Kusakabe, and Choso. In the heat of battle, he revealed his powerful abilities and managed to fend them off before ultimately making his escape.
4) Toji Fushiguro

Toji Fushiguro is undoubtedly one of the most formidable characters in Shibuya in Jujutsu Kaisen. Ogami tried to control his body through her grandson, but it failed as his strength overpowered the grandson's soul. Toji then proceeds to kill Ogami and continues with his agenda.
He was responsible for defeating Dagon and then turned his attention to Dagon's son, Megumi. However, after recognizing Megumi as a Fushiguro rather than a Zenin and looking into his eyes, Toji voluntarily ends his own life.
Anyhow, his brief but overwhelming display was enough to show just how powerful he can be, even in death.
3) Mahoraga

The encounter between the Divine General and Ryomen Sukuna solidified the Shikigami's place among the most powerful characters in Jujutsu Kaisen's Shibuya arc. Summoned as a last resort against Haruta by Megumi, Mahoraga's intervention was disrupted by the arrival of Sukuna, who had unsettled business with Fushiguro.
2) Ryomen Sukuna
The encounter resulted in a fierce clash between Mahoraga and the King of Curses. Mahoraga adeptly countered almost every one of Sukuna's maneuvers and fiercely battled against him. Despite Sukuna ultimately banishing him, Mahoraga demonstrated why he has remained uncontrollable thus far.

The Shibuya Incident was a bloodbath as the King of Curses unleashed his power. With Yuji consuming 15 fingers, Sukuna held dominion for a significant period and caused widespread destruction. Among the top-tier Jujutsu Kaisen characters in Shibuya, he effortlessly vanquished Jogo and banished Mahoraga with ease.
1) Gojo Satoru
The battle between Sukuna and Mahoraga was eagerly awaited in the series. While there were moments when it appeared that Mahoraga might have the upper hand, Sukuna countered and proved himself worthy of the title "King of Curses." Even at less than full strength, Sukuna unquestionably displays overwhelming power.

At the top of the list of the most powerful characters in Jujutsu Kaisen's Shibuya arc is Gojo Satoru. Despite being sealed and revealing a significant weakness, he undeniably displayed immense strength in his battle, easily overpowering Hanami.
His risky move stunned everyone, including allies and enemies. Expanding his Domain for a mere 0.2 seconds and eradicating the transformed humans in just 299 seconds is one of his most remarkable accomplishments, showcasing the power of the most formidable sorcerer of our time.
Editor's P/S
As a dedicated fan of Jujutsu Kaisen, I was thrilled to read about the ranking of the top 10 most powerful characters amidst the Shibuya Incident. The battles showcased in this arc were truly awe-inspiring, and it was amazing to see the growth and development of the characters. Megumi Fushiguro's quick thinking and ability to summon Mahoraga were particularly impressive, and I can't wait to see how he continues to grow as a sorcerer.
Yuji Itadori's journey in the Shibuya Incident was also incredibly compelling. His intense battles with Choso and Mahito revealed new depths to his character, and his near surrender after Nobara's death was a heartbreaking moment. However, his sudden awakening and ability to terrify Mahito showed that he has the potential to become one of the most powerful sorcerers in the world.
