Ranking the Most Powerful Dragon Ball Super Villains

Ranking the Most Powerful Dragon Ball Super Villains

Join Goku and Vegeta as they face off against the toughest foes in Dragon Ball Super. Training is essential to take on these formidable villains.

We've used our scouter to rank the Dragon Ball Super villains by power level, from Zamasu to Broly and Toppo to Hit.

Dragon Ball Super brought in some memorable villains (and brought back a classic one) that pushed our beloved characters to train harder than ever and reach new levels of power. These adversaries included gods, aliens, and even heroes from different universes.

Their common trait is their remarkable strength. These fighters were incredibly powerful, making it difficult to determine who was the strongest due to the inconsistent power scaling in Dragon Ball Super.

No need to fret. In celebration of Dragon Ball Z finally being available for streaming in the UK, I have carefully gone through all the Dragon Ball Super sagas to compile a definitive list of the most powerful supervillains. Just a heads up, we have not included any manga-exclusive characters like Moro and Granhola at the moment, but rest assured, we acknowledge their existence and formidable strength.

10. Zamasu

Zamasu from Dragon ball Super

Zamasu from Dragon ball Super

Zamasu, Gowasu's omnicidal apprentice, may not appear to be a formidable fighter at first glance. However, his calm demeanor masks his incredible power. Despite his appearance, Zamasu was able to hold his own against Super Saiyan 2 Goku. Even his future counterpart could handle Saiyan Blue, although his immortality gave him an unfair advantage. As impressive as he is in battle, Zamasu lacks the sheer strength of other warriors on this list. He often relies on cunning tactics and sneak attacks to emerge victorious.

9. Hit

Hit from Dragon Ball Super

Hit would definitely be at the top of the list if we were ranking characters based on their cool looks. He rocks a space trench coat that sets him apart! His ability to stop time makes him a formidable opponent, making him one of Universe 6's strongest fighters. However, his fighting style is more suited for hit-and-run tactics rather than prolonged battles. While he can definitely make other fighters break a sweat, it's hard to imagine him coming out on top in a one-on-one fight.

8. Goku Black

Goku Black from Dragon Ball Super

Dragon Ball fans have been dreaming of an evil version of Goku for many years, and in 2016, their wish came true when Goku Black made his appearance. We won’t dive into his complicated backstory, but essentially, he is an alternate Zamasu who took over Goku’s body. This means he possesses Goku’s strength along with Zamasu’s divine abilities.

Kefla

Kefla is a formidable opponent in combat, possessing impressive raw power and a variety of unique techniques. What truly makes her terrifying, however, is her ability to continuously grow stronger with each blow she receives. With enough time, she could have potentially become the most powerful villain the Z-Fighters ever encountered. Unfortunately, she made the mistake of weakening herself by fusing with another alternate Zamasu, adding to the already complex nature of her backstory.

Fused Zamasu

Fused Zamasu is the fusion of Goku Black and Future Zamasu, and he is a formidable opponent. With his immense power, he poses a great threat to the heroes. In his fused form, he is able to fight evenly with Super Saiyan Blue Vegito. However, his downfall lies in his lack of control and his increasing madness. This ultimately leads to his defeat at the hands of Vegito. Despite his strength, his inability to maintain his composure and sanity makes him vulnerable in battle.

When Goku Black and Zamasu are fused together, they create Fused Zamasu. This powerful divine being has the combined strength of Goku Black and the godly powers of Zamasu, including his immortality.

Fused Zamasu is known to be one of the strongest villains in the series. However, despite his immense power, he has a significant weakness. While Zamasu possessed immortality, Goku Black did not. This mismatch caused Fused Zamasu's body to struggle to properly heal from attacks, resulting in him appearing as though he had been severely damaged.

5. Toppo

Toppo in Dragon Ball Super

Toppo may look like a friendly alien grandpa with his big bushy mustache, but don't be fooled - he's a force to be reckoned with. Leading the Pride Troopers and training to become a God of Destruction, Toppo is a powerful warrior in Universe 11. Even in his base form, he has clashed with some of the strongest characters in the series like Vegeta, Android 17, and Gohan.

Broly

When Broly unleashes his true power, tapping into his legendary Super Saiyan form, he becomes nearly invincible. Don't just listen to us, witness what happened when Frieza faced off against this unstoppable force. Despite his immense strength, Broly does have a weakness. He is driven by his emotions, and when his rage consumes him, it creates a vulnerability that his opponents can exploit.

For years, there was a debate among some Dragon Ball fans about whether Broly was the most powerful villain in the series. However, this debate was rather boring and pointless because Broly was not officially part of the story.

In 2019, Toei changed this by updating Broly and incorporating him into the series. They made several changes to Broly to make him more interesting, but they kept his core trait - his immense power. Broly is considered one of the strongest characters in the series, especially after his Legendary Super Saiyan transformation.

Vegeta and Goku had to fuse into Gogeta in order to defeat Broly, showcasing just how powerful he truly is. Some argue that Broly could have actually won the fight if he had the skill to match his strength against more experienced fighters.

3. Jiren

Many Dragon Ball villains have unique characteristics. For example, Vegeta is proud, Cell is smug, Beerus is lazy, and Frieza embodies all of these traits. Jiren, on the other hand, is known for his incredible strength. In fact, he is ridiculously strong. Despite my personal dislike for Jiren (if Dragon Ball characters were paint colors, he’d be the tin), he does have some impressive qualities. As Universe 11’s most formidable fighter, he is said to be even stronger than Belmod, his resident God of Destruction. This allows him to take on multiple powerful opponents simultaneously, as demonstrated in his battle against Goku and Frieza. However, Jiren's biggest weakness is his reluctance to work with his teammates. He fails to see the importance of teamwork, making him vulnerable to coordinated attacks and ultimately leading to his defeat by ring out during the Tournament of Power.

2. Frieza

Frieza, the second major villain in Dragon Ball Z, made a surprising comeback despite being defeated by Trunks. He returned twice during Dragon Ball Super, even joining forces with Goku and his friends in the Tournament of Power. Despite his small size, Frieza is considered the most skilled fighter in the series.

Beerus

With only a few months of training, Beerus was able to challenge Super Saiyan Blue Goku. After his second defeat, he pushed his power even higher by training mentally, even in hell. In the Dragon Ball Super manga, he unlocked a new form called 'Black Form' that surpasses Goku and Vegeta in terms of strength.

Beerus

Fuji TV

Beerus is considered the strongest being in Universe 7, surpassing all other fighters in terms of power. With his access to god ki, he has the ability to easily defeat anyone with just a flick of his hand. In the manga, we have seen him take on multiple other Gods simultaneously, showcasing his unmatched strength. However, Beerus's main weakness lies in his laziness, as he often lacks the motivation to engage in battles.
