English football club Rangers have completed the signing of midfielder Jose Cifuentes from Los Angeles FC. The 24-year-old has agreed to a four-year contract, with the transfer fee reported to be approximately £1.2m. This acquisition marks manager Michael Beale's ninth addition to the team during the summer transfer window, as he looks to strengthen his squad for the upcoming season.

Ecuadorian player Cifuentes, with 16 international appearances for his home country, was a member of LAFC's victorious team that clinched both the MLS Cup and the Supporters' Shield titles last year.

"I'm thrilled to be a part of this incredible club," he expressed.

During my conversation with Michael Beale, he shared details about the project and what he envisions for the club. He also expressed his expectations from me, which is why I made the decision to join. I'm truly passionate about his project and his remarkable vision for football.

Rangers have already welcomed a number of new signings during this transfer window, including Kieran Dowell, Cyriel Dessers, Jack Butland, Sam Lammers, Leon Balogun, Dujon Sterling, Danilo Pereira da Silva, and Abdallah Sima.

Beale stated, "We have been monitoring Jose for a considerable amount of time. I first became acquainted with him during his breakthrough in Ecuador, and since then, I have closely observed his progress with LAFC in the MLS.

"As a versatile midfielder, he is capable of playing in multiple positions, functioning both as a box-to-box player and in a defensive capacity. His performances in the MLS and for his national team have been exceptional."

Upon my return to Rangers, his name immediately became a topic of discussion. We were well aware of the fierce competition we would face in order to secure his signature. During our meeting to negotiate the move, it became evident that our thoughts were aligned, particularly in terms of his future growth.

I am thrilled to have Jose on board with us at Rangers, and I extend my gratitude to all those who were involved in facilitating this transfer, as it has now become a reality.

"We are delighted to announce the recent additions of Jose and Danilo to our men's first-team squad. With these signings, we now have a total of nine exciting new players this summer. They will greatly enhance our team alongside Kieran Dowell, Jack Butland, Dujon Sterling, Sam Lammers, Abdallah Sima, Cyriel Dessers, and Leon Balogun. We eagerly anticipate a successful season ahead for everyone involved with Rangers."

Could Kamara, Sakala and Wright depart?

The work done by our chairman, John Bennett, the Rangers Board, Michael, and myself is truly commendable. We are all extremely pleased as our attention is now solely directed towards our upcoming trip to Kilmarnock for the opening match of the Scottish Premiership on Saturday.

Midfielder Glen Kamara, who arrived at Rangers in 2019 from Dundee for a mere £50,000, appears to be on his way out. While training separately from the first team, Kamara has attracted the attention of several clubs. It is believed that Rangers are reluctant to part ways with him unless they receive a substantial fee of approximately £5 million - a significant increase from his initial signing fee four years ago.

Several Saudi Arabian clubs are closely monitoring forward Fashion Sakala, who is expected to leave Ibrox. Rangers have set a valuation of approximately £4m for him.

In an exclusive interview with We News, winger Scott Wright revealed his plans to travel to Istanbul and hold discussions with Pendikspor. Despite returning to training in Glasgow, Wright still has the potential to move to Turkey in this transfer window.

Rangers kick off their Scottish Premiership campaign at Kilmarnock on Saturday - live on We - before the first leg of their Champions League third-round qualifier against Servette next Wednesday.
