Sony has unveiled a new lineup of metallic covers for its PS5 console and DualSense controllers. These stunning covers, known as the Volcanic Red, Cobalt Blue, and Sterling Silver colors, are part of the Deep Earth collection. They offer a great way for gamers to customize their PS5 collection. However, it's important to note that these covers are not as highly sought after as the recent sales of the limited edition Marvel's Spider-Man 2 PS5 consoles.
Sony has also shared the pre-order and release dates for these new colors. Fans should be aware that the PS5 Volcanic Red and Cobalt Blue colors will be available in just a few months. On the other hand, the Sterling Silver Color will be released in early 2024.
Interested parties can pre-order all three Deep Earth colors on October 4. Covers are priced at $59.99 and controllers at $74.99. PS5 Volcanic Red and Cobalt Blue colors (both console cover and controller) will be released on November 3, while the Sterling Silver colors will be available on January 26 next year. Each color variation features a metallic finish, with the Volcanic Red having a strong red tone, the Cobalt Blue having a strong blue tone with touches of purple, and the Silver set having a blue undertone. Xbox recently introduced an Astral Purple color for controllers, generating excitement among fans.
In terms of hardware, this was the main focus of the PlayStation State of Play. However, several games also made an appearance. The highlights were Spider-Man 2 and Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth. Spider-Man 2 showcased gameplay, worldbuilding elements, and exploration, and announced a total of 65 suits, building anticipation for its release in October. Even the big AAA games didn't overshadow the smaller reveals, indicating a well-paced and executed show. Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth revealed key details, gameplay, and confirmed its release date in February 2024. This means fans can enjoy the upcoming title with any of the Red, Blue, or Silver covers and controllers if they choose to.
Tales of Arise's Beyond the Dawn DLC unveiled another exciting detail: the addition of a new character alongside a captivating new conflict for the party. Further information is yet to be disclosed, but with its release scheduled for November, fans will have the opportunity to experience it with the options of Volcanic Red and Cobalt Blue colors, should they desire.
