The Lizard looked incredibly menacing, adding to the excitement. Additionally, players will be able to switch between Miles and Peter, which is sure to offer a unique and engaging experience. The teaser also included the return of Black Cat, Wraith and The Prowler, all of whom are sure to add an extra layer of excitement to the game. With Insomniac already taking Miles’ uncle in an interesting direction, fans can’t wait to see where they take the character next.

Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 Should Highlight Prowler’s Redemption

Prowler's Redemption: The Key to Marvel's Spider-Man 2

The Prowler's story has been reimagined in recent adaptations, deviating from the traditional version where Miles' uncle dies during a battle with him. In Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse, Prowler's death occurs at the hands of Kingpin, rather than Miles. Insomniac's take on the story in Spider-Man: Miles Morales goes even further, as Miles and Uncle Aaron's confrontation stems from the latter's desire to protect his nephew from a dangerous fight, as opposed to pressuring him into committing crimes. This change in motivation alters the outcome of their conflict, with Miles defeating his uncle without any tragic consequences.

After the boss fight with Spider-Man: Miles Morales, Prowler decides to aid Miles in fighting off their enemies, which marks a significant step towards his redemption. Rather than resorting to his old ways, Insomniac should continue to explore Aaron's character development and his journey towards self-improvement. Although the Prowler boss fight was impressive, it would be a missed opportunity to have Aaron go back to his villainous ways just to justify another boss encounter. Insomniac could instead take advantage of the unique version of the character it has created, as having Prowler as an ally adds an intriguing dynamic to the story. As co-op takedowns with Miles and Peter are expected to be flashy, including other finishers when fighting with other allies can further enhance the game's combat sequences.

The idea of Prowler transforming from a villain to a hero presents an exciting narrative possibility and it would be great if Insomniac explores this further. It would be interesting to see Prowler seek Miles' assistance in returning money to those he had swindled during his younger days, or perhaps aiding a family member in taking down Kingpin. With Kingpin's promise of revenge in Spider-Man: Miles Morales, it's highly likely that he will pose a threat to Miles once again in the upcoming Marvel's Spider-Man 2, set to release in Fall 2023 for PS5.
