Prince Harry and Meghan Markle made a surprise appearance at a Vancouver Canucks game — and Harry even stepped out on the ice.
Harry, 39, and Meghan, 42, attended the Canucks' game against the San Jose Sharks at Rogers Arena in Vancouver, Canada, on Monday, November 20th. The Duke of Sussex participated in the ceremonial first puck drop before taking his seat with his wife. Sharks captain Tomáš Hertl recalled having to remind Harry to drop the puck as he was smiling and holding onto it. Hertl described the moment as cool and memorable.
The Canucks' head coach Rick Tocchet mentioned having a brief encounter with Harry outside the rink. He stated, "I gave him a fist bump. I'm not sure if that's allowed, but I did it, and he did it back." Over 20 years ago, Harry's grandmother, Queen Elizabeth II, carried out a similar duty when she attended a Canucks game in 2002 during her Golden Jubilee tour of Canada. The late queen, who passed away at 96 in September 2022, also watched the Canucks face off against the Sharks.
Harry and Meghan are currently in Canada to celebrate the Invictus Games, a tournament that Prince Harry established in 2014 for wounded, injured, and sick service personnel and veterans. The next Invictus Games is set to take place in 2025 in Vancouver and Whistler and will be the first to feature winter adaptive sports such as alpine skiing and wheelchair curling.

The couple, who have a 4-year-old son named Archie and a 2-year-old daughter named Lilibet, have been trying to establish themselves in the entertainment industry since stepping down from their roles as senior working royals in 2020. Earlier this year, their company Archewell Audio announced that Meghan's "Archetypes" podcast would not be returning for a second season on Spotify after the couple mutually decided to part ways with the platform.
In October, an episode of Family Guy made fun of the couple's business ventures, which Harry and Meghan found to be unkind, according to an insider. "But they are starting to take things less seriously," the source added.
