Prince Harry and Meghan Markle were unhappy with King Charles III's decision to offer Prince Andrew Frogmore Cottage as a place to live. In an upcoming book by royal expert Omid Scobie titled Endgame, it is revealed that Charles, 75, offered the royal residence to Andrew, 63, after evicting Harry, 39, and Meghan, 42, with an "eviction notice" nailed to the door of the cottage. The author described this action as a "final blow" for the Duke and Duchess of Sussex.
Charles' decision to offer Frogmore to Andrew, as Scobie suggests, may not have been intended as a move against Harry, but it is undoubtedly perceived as such. Despite this, Andrew has consistently declined the property. The writer points out that Charles has a "blind spot" when it comes to his younger brother.
Andrew has been residing in the Royal Lodge for the past twenty years, paying rent and contributing financially to the estate's renovation projects. In 2019, Andrew relinquished his duties as a working member of the royal family after facing allegations of sexual misconduct, which he vehemently denied. By May 2020, he permanently stepped down from his public roles and was subsequently stripped of all military titles and patronages.
After the scandal continued to dominate the news, the book asserts that Charles “openly despised” his brother’s behavior while also spending numerous nights “anxious” about him. Following his expulsion from the family, Andrew was no longer generating income and was unable to sustain the upkeep of the lodge.

Harry and Meghan, who resided in Frogmore with their 4-year-old son Archie, declared their intention to reduce their roles as senior working royals in early 2020. They later moved to California and welcomed their daughter Lilibet, 2.
Although they were adjusting to their new life in the United States, Harry and Meghan intended to use the royal residence when they visited the U.K. However, in March, it was confirmed that they were asked to vacate the residence shortly after the release of Harry's memoir, "Spare."

Harry learned about the eviction and reportedly called Charles to discuss the decision. He asked his father if he wanted to see his grandchildren. Charles didn’t answer the question, but reassured his son that he and his family would always have a place to stay when they visited.
In June, three months after being asked to leave, Us confirmed that Harry and Meghan officially moved out of the cottage.
