Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson have maintained a friendly relationship since their divorce in 1996. They have not completely ruled out the possibility of rekindling their romance.
In a 2000 interview with Tatler, Andrew, aged 64 at the time, mentioned that he is not completely against the idea of remarrying. He stated, "I don't rule out remarriage, and I don't rule it in either. If the opportunity ever arises, I am unsure of what I would do as it is not something I have planned for."
Andrew and Ferguson first met as children and reconnected as adults in 1985. Just one year later, the prince proposed, and they got married within five months in 1986. Shortly after their wedding, the Duke and Duchess of York started a family by welcoming daughters Princess Beatrice in 1988 and Princess Eugenie in 1990.
Unfortunately, after six years of marriage, Andrew and Ferguson announced their separation in 1992. Their divorce was finalized in 1996, yet they continued to live together at the Royal Lodge in Windsor.

Andrew explained to Tatler in 2000 that their actions were not just for the children, but also for their own benefit.
Currently, Andrew and Ferguson reside at the royal residence with a variety of dogs. Along with Ferguson's five pups, they also welcomed Queen Elizabeth II's corgis after her passing in September 2022 at the age of 96.
Ferguson has openly shared her thoughts on her connection with Andrew.
“He’s a wonderful man,” she expressed enthusiastically in an interview on Good Morning Britain in April 2023. “He’s a kind-hearted individual. I believe it’s time to shift the focus away from him and allow him the space to move forward and start anew.”
Andrew faced allegations of sexual misconduct from Virginia Giuffre in late 2019, which he strongly denied. Two years later, Giuffre filed a lawsuit against Andrew, accusing him of raping and sexually abusing her when she was 17. Despite Andrew's denial, they settled the case out of court for an undisclosed amount.
As a result of the scandal, Andrew decided to step back from his royal responsibilities and patronages. His mother, Queen Elizabeth II, removed his "His Royal Highness" title. Since then, Andrew has rarely been seen in public, only appearing at the funerals of the queen and Prince Philip in 2022 and 2021 respectively. He also attended the royals' Easter Mattins service on March 31, accompanied by Ferguson and his siblings: King Charles III, Princess Anne, and Prince Edward.
Andrew not only maintains a close relationship with Ferguson and his siblings, but he is also a loving grandfather to Beatrice and Eugenie’s children. The duchess highlighted his role as a “very good grandfather” during an appearance on Good Morning Britain. Beatrice, aged 35, has a daughter named Sienna with her husband Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi, who also has a son named Wolfie from a previous relationship. Eugenie, aged 34, has two sons named August and Ernest with her husband Jack Brooksbank.
