Post Malone surprised bar-goers in New Zealand with an impromptu performance at an Irish pub in Auckland. The 28-year-old singer, also known as Austin Post, took the stage at Danny Doolans and treated the audience to covers of Sublime's "What I Got" and The Proclaimers' "I'm Gonna Be (500 Miles)" while sharing the spotlight with the house band.
During his performance, Malone sported a trucker hat, dangly earrings, and a pair of sunglasses on his plaid shirt. A video posted on TikTok shows Malone embracing a band member with a big smile after the show.
The "Circles" singer is currently touring in Australia for his If Y’all Weren’t Here, I’d Be Crying tour and will continue to be in Australia until December. He is also scheduled to appear in Christmas at Graceland, an NBC live music special honoring the late Elvis Presley on November 29 alongside stars like John Legend and Lana Del Rey.
Malone teamed up with Morgan Wallen and Hardy for a performance at the 2023 CMA Awards earlier this month. The trio delivered remarkable covers of Joe Diffie’s “John Deere Green” and “Pickup Man,” which earned them a standing ovation.
Beyond his love for country music, Malone has also shown admiration for Taylor Swift and was pleasantly surprised when she complimented one of his songs.
While on The Howard Stern Show in October, I was doing a radio show when she passed by and complimented my song "Better Now," saying, 'Oh my God, nice to see you. 'Better Now' is amazing.' I was shocked and told her, 'What? That's insane. You're an amazing songwriter too. Thank you so much.' According to Malone, Taylor Swift, 33, is a fantastic songwriter and a genuinely kind and considerate person.
“There are countless incredible artists in the world, and for one artist to recognize that is truly remarkable,” expressed Malone. “It’s an incredibly special thing. So, I believe that was a truly awesome moment, and it was incredibly inspiring.”

Malone also expressed his admiration for Swift's new partner, Travis Kelce. He shared with Howard Stern that he had tattooed his arm as a consequence of losing a game of beer pong to Kelce, 34, and Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes.
“They are sweet guys and talented players,” Malone said of the Kansas City teammates.
