PlayStation Plus Extra Tier January 2024: New Games Announcement
Sony has officially announced the nine games that will make up the January 2024 additions to the Extra tier of its PlayStation Plus subscription service.

Subscribers to the Extra tier of the PlayStation Plus subscription service have nine games to look forward to come the Tuesday, January 16 update. Sony has officially announced the nine games that will make up the January 2024 additions to the Extra tier of its PlayStation Plus subscription service for January 2024. PlayStation Plus subscribers have multiple tiers to choose from. The Essential tier gets players access to the monthly free games, online multiplayer, and exclusive discounts, while the Extra tier comes with all that plus a selection of rotating PS4 and PS5 games to play.

The monthly free PS Plus games that make up the Essential tier are typically added at the beginning of each month, whereas subscribers have to wait until the middle of the month for the PS Plus Extra games. Of course, it's worth pointing out that all the games added to PS Plus Extra are also available to those who are signed up for the highest tier, PS Plus Premium, which includes all the Extra content in addition to retro games.
New Games Lineup
The nine games coming to PS Plus Extra in January 2024 are Hardspace: Shipbreaker, Just Cause 3, LEGO City Undercover, Resident Evil 2, Session: Skate Sim, Shadow Tactics: Blades of the Shogun, Surviving the Aftermath, Tiny Tina's Wonderlands: Next-Level Edition, and Vampire: The Masquerade - Swansong. All nine of the games will be added when the PlayStation Store updates on Tuesday, January 16. Tiny Tina's Wonderlands: Next-Level Edition includes the Dragon Lord Pack Bonus Content on top of the full base game for players to play through.
These nine new games will be replacing the nine PS Plus Extra games that are being cycled out of the service this month. When the PS Plus Extra lineup updates, fans will have to say goodbye to Devil May Cry 5, Devil May Cry 5: Special Edition, It Takes Two, Jett: The Far Shore, The Missing: J.J. Macfield and the Island of Memories, Mitsurugi Kamui Hikae, Omno, Pillars of Eternity 2: Deadfire - Ultimate Edition, and SnowRunner.
January 2024 Highlights
While it's sad to see nine games being removed from the PS Plus Extra, January 2024 has otherwise been a strong month for the subscription service. The free PS Plus games for January 2024 consist of A Plague Tale: Requiem, Evil West, and Nobody Saves the World, which are all great games, and there are plenty of things to be excited about when it comes to the new PS Plus Extra games this month as well.
