Platinum Games will discontinue support for a major exclusive, leading to its delisting in January and complete cessation of functionality in February

There has been ongoing discussion in the gaming industry about the preservation of games. Unfortunately, another game is on the verge of being lost as Platinum Games revealed that their Apple Arcade exclusive action game, World Of Demons, will no longer be available in a month. A recent blog post from the studio confirmed that the game will be removed from the Apple Arcade service on January 18, and on February 1, it will completely cease to function, even for those who had previously downloaded it.

World of Demons

World of Demons is currently only available on Apple Arcade, which means the game will cease to exist on February 1 unless Platinum decides to release it on another console. The developers have expressed gratitude to all players who have enjoyed the game since its release in a blog post, and there will be a two-week grace period between its removal and full shutdown, in accordance with Apple Arcade policy. This policy allows players who have downloaded the game to continue playing for at least two weeks after its removal. If an Arcade game is no longer playable, a "No Longer Available" message will appear when attempting to launch it.

The 2021 review of World Of Demons on our website gave it a rating of 7 out of 10 and described it as a "solid action experience." The review noted that the Platinum formula was well-translated to iOS devices, with simple touch controls and fast-paced action that was visually and physically enjoyable on the smaller screen.

Editor's P/S

As a hard fan of Platinum Games, I am deeply saddened by the news that World of Demons will be discontinued. I have been a fan of the studio since their early days, and I have always been impressed by their ability to create stylish, action-packed games. World of Demons was no exception, and I was thrilled when it was released on Apple Arcade. The game was a perfect fit for the platform, with its simple touch controls and fast-paced action. I spent many hours playing World of Demons, and I was always impressed by its beautiful graphics and challenging gameplay.

I am disappointed that Platinum Games is discontinuing support for World of Demons, but I understand that the studio has to make difficult decisions in order to stay afloat. I hope that the studio will continue to create new games in the future, and I look forward to seeing what they come up with next. In the meantime, I will cherish the memories I have of playing World of Demons, and I will hope that one day it will be released on another platform so that others can experience it as well.
