Discover how to overcome the electrifying challenge of yellow electric gates in Pikmin 4 Navigate the obstacles with expert tips on breaking these barriers and unlock the power of selecting Yellow Pikmin

Pikmin 4 is fundamentally a problem-solving game, requiring players to strategically determine the most suitable tools for each task. Similarly to previous installments, Pikmin 4 offers multiple solutions to its puzzles, some more effective than others. However, when confronted with the game's yellow electric gates, there is only one correct solution.

These electric fences pose a danger to anyone who touches them, except for a specific type of Pikmin. Therefore, players in Pikmin 4 must ensure they have the appropriate Pikmin lineup to safely surpass these yellow electric fences. Otherwise, they will have to return to their base and reconfigure their team of Pikmin.

How to Select Yellow Pikmin in Pikmin 4

To successfully pass through an electric gate, players must first demolish it. This can be achieved by having several Yellow Pikmin in their team, as these creatures are immune to electricity and can safely touch the gate without getting shocked. Assuming players have already unlocked Yellow Pikmin, all they need to do is hurl a few of them towards the gate and wait for them to dismantle it. Similar to other tasks in Pikmin 4, players can expedite this process by throwing more Pikmin at the gate, but these additional Pikmin must also be of the yellow variety.

In Pikmin 4, selecting a specific type of Pikmin is made easier for players. By using the L and R buttons, players can cycle through the various Pikmin types they have, including Oatchi, the rescue pup. The currently chosen Pikmin type is displayed in a blue circle in the bottom right-hand corner of the screen. The number within the circle indicates the quantity of that Pikmin type that players can command at any given moment. To break an electric fence in Pikmin 4, players simply need to switch to the Yellow Pikmin, aim the cursor at the gate, and then press the A button to initiate the Pikmin throwing action.

Players need to exercise caution when pressing the A button repeatedly, as running out of a specific type of Pikmin will lead the game to automatically transition to the next one. Pikmin 4 is now accessible exclusively for the Nintendo Switch.
