Manchester United have reportedly made initial contact regarding a potential deal for Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg, the midfielder from Tottenham. With Hojbjerg's contract entering its final two years, Tottenham would be willing to let him go if a suitable offer is presented.
The Danish footballer was on the verge of signing for Atletico Madrid earlier this transfer period. With just two appearances as a substitute for Tottenham this season, the 28-year-old has past experience working with Erik ten Hag, who coached Hojbjerg at Bayern Munich's reserve team back in 2013.
He also tried to sign him for Ajax before Hojbjerg left Southampton for Tottenham in 2020.
Other options include Fiorentina's Sofyan Amrabat and Bayern Munich's Ryan Gravenberch.
Ten Hag likes both players and has managed them before - Amrabat at Utrecht and Gravenberch at Ajax.

Although a deal for Amrabat cannot be disregarded, a significant portion of the rumors surrounding the potential transfer are originating from Italy. Presently, Amrabat is training separately from the first-team squad as he resolves his future.
There is still a possibility that there will be no further significant arrivals in the outfield department at Old Trafford this summer.
