Payday 3: Unlocking the Skies - Mastering the Security Chief's Phone Hack to Access the Office Vault

During the Touch the Sky heist in Payday 3, players must infiltrate the penthouse suite and obtain the security chief's phone to unlock the vault in the office.

To gain entry into the office, players must locate the filing office and obtain the key card for the penthouse office. This will enable the player in Payday 3 to unlock the vault, providing access to the valuable encrypted hard drive.

Hacking the Phone

After securing the upper level of the penthouse, players must focus on obtaining the QR code from the security chief's phone. The chief can be easily recognized by his all-black attire and sunglasses, and he reacts quickly by drawing his weapon as soon as he detects any trouble.

If the security chief is not present on the upper floor initially, players can patiently wait for him to patrol the area and then apprehend him when he is alone and away from the other guards. Shade will inform players when the chief is approaching. At this point, players should ensure that the chief is not spotted by any other guard downstairs while they are taking him hostage by allowing him to reach the upper floor undisturbed. Once the chief is under control, players must move him to a more secluded location to avoid the risk of any stray guards stumbling upon him if they happen to venture upstairs.

Players must answer the radio promptly when the other guards check in to avoid arousing suspicion.

After ensuring that no one is watching, interact with the phone attached to the chief's belt in order to initiate the hacking process. Players can simply stay close by to complete this step. Once the hacking is finished, players will receive a QR code that can be used to unlock the filing office. The filing office can be located in one of the back hallways, either upstairs near the elevator or downstairs near the balcony. Players might also consider searching for the poison, which is stored in the lower level storage room. The poison can be used later on to discreetly open the vault.

Taking Care of Mason

In the filing office, search the filing cabinets for the red keycard to gain access to the upstairs office. Activate the button on the desk to uncover the hidden vault equipped with a biometric scanner. Once the vault is revealed, Shade will inform players about an executive downstairs who can open the vault. If players have obtained the poison from the storage room, they can try slipping it into Mason's drink at the bar to make him go upstairs and rest. Alternatively, players have the option to subdue all the civilians by shouting, capture Mason, and guide him to the vault.

Upon Mason's placement in the vault, the encrypted hard drive becomes accessible, marking the beginning of players' pursuit of the bedroom vault. In the event that players lose Mason or trigger alarms prior to his arrival, the office vault can still be opened using a thermite drill. However, players will have to confront a police assault in order to proceed. If complications arise, gain access to the safe, deploy the drill, and be ready to engage in combat. Monitoring the drill's operation will prevent malfunctions and accelerate the break-in process.
