Patrick Stewart opens up about his Doctor Strange cameo, revealing his frustrations and disappointment Additionally, he hints at a possible reprisal of his role as Charles Xavier in Deadpool 3

In 2022's Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, actor Patrick Stewart made a cameo appearance as his X-Men character, Charles Xavier. Stewart recently discussed the experience of filming this cameo, describing it as less than ideal.

During an appearance on the Happy Sad Confused podcast with Josh Horowitz, Stewart revealed that he filmed his scene alone, similar to other actors such as John Krasinski (Reed Richards), Anson Mount (Black Bolt), Hayley Atwell (Captain Carter), and Lashana Lynch (Captain Marvel) for their cameos in the movie's Illuminati scene.

"I was alone. I think each one of the leading actors had the same experience," Stewart said. "It was frustrating and disappointing but that is how it has been--the last few years have been challenging."

Xavier had his neck snapped by Scarlet Witch (Elizabeth Olsen) in the Doctor Strange sequel, representing just the latest time the character was killed in a superhero movie. In the same interview, Stewart said he believes Xavier is still alive and teased that he could appear in Deadpool 3.

There is now a high level of certainty that he is still present. Stewart stated, as reported by ComicBookMovie, "There's been a process that has led to the development of [Deadpool 3]." This highly anticipated movie, Marvel's single new theatrical release for 2024, will hit theaters in July. Ryan Reynolds reprising his role as Deadpool and Hugh Jackman returning as Wolverine.

As a hard fan of Patrick Stewart and the X-Men franchise, I was thrilled to hear about his cameo in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. However, I was disappointed to learn that his experience filming the cameo was less than ideal. Stewart revealed that he filmed his scene alone, which must have been frustrating and disappointing for an actor of his caliber. I can understand why he would feel this way, as it would have been great to see him interact with the other actors in the scene.

Despite the disappointing cameo experience, I am excited about the possibility of Stewart reprising his role as Charles Xavier in Deadpool 3. I believe that Stewart is the perfect actor to portray Xavier, and I would love to see him return to the role. I am also excited about the potential for Xavier to interact with Deadpool, as I think their dynamic could be very entertaining. Overall, I am hopeful that Stewart will be able to have a more positive experience filming Deadpool 3, and I look forward to seeing him return to the role of Charles Xavier.
