Paris Hilton explained why she didn’t hesitate to defend her son Phoenix after internet trolls criticized the size of his head.
"I normally wouldn't even acknowledge something like that, but I was deeply saddened to know that there are such cruel individuals in the world," Hilton, 42, told People in an interview published on Tuesday, November 28. "I couldn't believe that they could be so unkind and malicious towards an innocent little baby."
Hilton informed the haters that they can "say what you want" about her, but she advised critics to leave her baby out of it. "If anyone ever says anything to hurt him or his feelings, I will always be there to protect him," she added.
Hilton and her husband, Carter Reum, welcomed their son Phoenix in January through a surrogate. In response to critics mocking her son's head size, the Simple Life alum defended her baby's health, stating, "My angel is perfectly healthy. And yes, of course, he has been to a doctor, he just has a large brain."

In response to the negative comments about her child, Hilton expressed her pity for the individuals. "They're so unhappy in their own lives that they would stoop to speaking about a child in such a manner," she shared with People.
Hilton has found a supportive group of mom fans who have stood by her despite the criticism. "I feel grateful knowing that there are so many people in the world who love and support me," she says. "Having people stand up for me and look out for Phoenix means a lot to me."

Months after Phoenix’s surprise arrival, Hilton and Reum announced the birth of their second child, a daughter named London.
Hilton expressed her gratitude for her baby girl in an Instagram post on November 23, revealing London's arrival by sharing a photo of a pink outfit embroidered with the newborn's name. According to a source, the birth of the baby girl is a "dream come true for the whole family." Shortly after, Hilton confirmed that she had surprised her entire family on Thanksgiving with the birth of her and Reum's daughter.
