You can’t keep “The Prince of Darkness” down: Ozzy Osbourne is ready to hit the road again.

Osbourne, who is 74 years old, recently provided a health update to Metal Hammer on September 26. He shared that he had undergone what he hopes will be his "final surgery" for a spinal injury that ultimately led to his retirement from touring. Expressing his relief, he stated, "Thankfully, I have now completed all the necessary surgeries. I'm doing okay, although the recovery process felt never-ending. I had initially anticipated being back on my feet months ago. Adjusting to this lifestyle of constantly dealing with health issues has been challenging. While I am not able to walk properly at the moment, I am no longer experiencing any pain, and the spinal surgery was a success."

Additionally, Osbourne expressed his desire to return to the studio and the stage, revealing his improved condition. He stated, "I am working on improving my fitness levels. I have released two albums fairly recently—Ordinary Man in 2020 and Patient Number 9 in 2022—but I have plans to create one more album before hitting the road again."

Osbourne, who publicly announced his Parkinson's disease diagnosis in early 2020, shared that he has established a home studio in the U.K. with the intention of reuniting with Andrew Watt, the producer of his albums "Ordinary Man" and "Patient Number 9," as well as a collaborator with renowned artists like the Rolling Stones and Justin Bieber. Osbourne expressed his plans to begin working on the new album now and proceed with recording in the early part of next year, emphasizing his desire to take his time with the project.

Having faced health challenges since a fall in 2019, the heavy metal legend had to address complications arising from the accident. These complications involved the displacement of metal rods that had been inserted in his body after a quad bike accident in 2003. Osbourne underwent surgery to correct the injury sustained in 2019; however, he later revealed to Rolling Stone that the procedure had adversely affected his condition, stating, "It messed everything up... I experience instability and tremors. Additionally, because of the nerve damage caused by the surgery, my right arm feels perpetually cold."

Earlier this year, Osbourne declared that despite undergoing three surgeries, stem cell treatments, numerous physical therapy sessions, and the revolutionary Cybernic (HAL) Treatment, his body remains physically feeble. As a consequence of these persistent health challenges, Osbourne announced in February that he is unable to proceed with his scheduled European/UK tour dates and has chosen to retire from touring. Reflecting on his unexpected conclusion, he expressed his disbelief, stating, "I never envisioned my touring days would culminate in such a manner."
