Due to a technical problem with the Anniversary Challenges, certain players were unable to earn credits, leading Overwatch 2 to disable the rewards. As compensation, Overwatch 2 will grant all players 3000 credits for free when they log in during the first week of Season 7. Players who had previously earned credits will still be eligible for this reward.

In Season 7, Overwatch 2 is generously offering 3000 free credits to players. Simply logging in during the redemption period will earn players this in-game currency.

As part of the one-year anniversary event for Overwatch 2, players were given a series of weekly challenges. Upon completion, players received 3000 Overwatch Credits, which could be redeemed for legacy items, as well as a variety of cosmetics from the limited-time Anniversary store. Unfortunately, a technical glitch hindered some players from receiving the currency after finishing the Anniversary Challenges. As a result, Overwatch 2 has disabled the additional Overwatch Credit rewards.

To make up for this, Overwatch 2 has announced that it will give away 3000 Overwatch Credits to all players for free. To claim these credits, players simply need to log in to Overwatch 2 once during the first week of Season 7, which runs from October 10 to October 17. Furthermore, players who had previously earned Overwatch Credits from the Anniversary Challenges before they were disabled will still be eligible for this free distribution, allowing some players to double their free currency.

The Anniversary Credits Shop from the Overwatch 2 event will remain open for an additional week until October 16, allowing players to still purchase items from the catalog before it closes. In addition, Overwatch 2 has confirmed that more content will be available for purchase using Overwatch Credits starting in Season 7. Players can expect to receive more information about these new offerings as the upcoming season approaches.

Players are pleased with the way Overwatch 2 has addressed this issue and find Overwatch Credits to be easier to obtain and more valuable overall. Initially, fans were unhappy with the difficulty in acquiring Overwatch Credits, so the addition of more methods for collection and use is seen as a significant achievement.

The upcoming season of Overwatch 2, Season 7, titled Rise of Darkness, will soon commence. This eerie season will showcase various spooky skins, including one that transforms Moira into Lilith from Diablo 4. While players will have to wait until Season 8 to play as the new unannounced tank hero, Season 7 will introduce the new Samoa Control map and appear to be preparing a Halloween-themed transformation for Blizzard World. As Season 7 begins on October 10, players can anticipate discovering more about what Overwatch 2 has in store in the days leading up to its launch.

Overwatch 2 is out now for PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
