Widowmaker's latest highlight intro in Overwatch 2 has a flaw - the background image in the intro does not fill the entire screen.
While some players find this flaw amusing, likening the background to a Sears photo shoot backdrop, others express criticism towards the overall quality of the game and Activision Blizzard's polishing efforts.
Notwithstanding these concerns, Overwatch 2 continues to be one of the most well-liked multiplayer FPS games, drawing a dedicated yet divided community.
The latest highlight intro for Overwatch 2 hero Widowmaker has a flaw that is causing some concern among players. In the game's seventh season, which features a collaboration with the Diablo franchise and Halloween-themed elements, many heroes, including Widowmaker, have received new cosmetics. However, one of her new cosmetic items has a flaw that is surprising some players.
An Overwatch 2 player and Reddit user, twetwetwe, recently shared a video clip featuring Widowmaker's new skin, Ghostly Bride, from season 7. This skin seems to draw inspiration from Tim Burton's Corpse Bride, and also includes a complimentary highlight intro called Decay. Observant players will notice that the backdrop in Widowmaker's Decay highlight intro appears to be broken, with the background image not filling the entire screen and revealing the standard Battle Pass background.
One user made a playful comment, suggesting that Widowmaker's backdrop resembles the photo shoot area at the well-known department store Sears. This user humorously highlighted the fact that Widowmaker is posing with a bouquet in her hands. However, some users took this opportunity to criticize Overwatch 2 and express their concerns about Activision Blizzard's perceived lack of effort in the game. These users commented on the quality of Overwatch 2, particularly considering the stature of Activision Blizzard as an AAA video game company. With Microsoft's recent acquisition of Blizzard, many are hopeful that this change will have a positive impact on Overwatch 2.
Despite divisions among the Overwatch 2 community, whether it be due to easily surmountable bugs or contentious monetization decisions, the game continues to reign as a highly sought-after multiplayer FPS. Players can currently enjoy Overwatch 2 on multiple platforms including Nintendo Switch, PC, PS5, PS4, and Xbox Series X|S.
