OutDaughtered star Danielle Busby discusses how she manages the fear of missing out (FOMO) with her six kids, shedding light on her approach to motherhood and why she avoids the term mom guilt

Parenting six children is challenging, especially when cameras are constantly present. However, OutDaughtered star Danielle Busby strives not to overly stress herself. "I don't believe in feeling guilty," the 39-year-old reality star candidly shared during our exclusive interview while promoting season 9 of the TLC series. "Instead, I often experience FOMO, which stands for the fear of missing out."

Danielle acknowledged that her husband, Adam Busby, has been more willing to spend quality time with their children ever since they became parents to just one daughter. However, she sometimes feels a bit disappointed when she misses out on a fun activity.

"He still manages to do incredible and enjoyable things," Danielle commented on Adam, aged 41. "I can't help but think, 'Why didn't we do that before I left?' But I truly appreciate that aspect about him. It brings me joy to see him being such an exceptional father and making an effort to create these memorable experiences for our daughters. Consequently, I do end up missing out, but I genuinely cherish having fun with them."

Adam and Danielle, who tied the knot in 2006, share six daughters: Blayke, 12, and quintuplets Ava, Olivia, Hazel, Riley and Parker, 8.

Adam expressed his love for having a daughter, emphasizing the unique perspective and admiration they have for their fathers. The Busby family entered the world of reality TV in 2016 but took a hiatus for over two years. Danielle explained that they needed time to breathe and reassess after becoming parents to six children while simultaneously managing their show.

In early 2020, when the COVID-19 pandemic began, the Busbys finally had the opportunity to slow down and spend quality time together. This allowed them to sit down as a family and have meaningful conversations as the kids grew older, a cherished family tradition for Danielle during her own upbringing.

Interestingly, the girls themselves started to miss being on camera, and it seemed like the perfect time to resume filming the show. According to Danielle, they were eagerly anticipating the return of the cameras and had been asking about it for quite some time. As a result, they have been having a great time since then!

OutDaughtered airs on TLC Tuesdays at 9 p.m. ET.
