The Blue Box anime production committee has recently released a captivating new visual, sparking excitement among fans of the romantic comedy manga. Since its publication in Shonen Jump in 2021, the manga has gained a devoted following due to its appealing blend of romance and sports.
The premise of the story is refreshingly straightforward: Taiki Inomata, a high school student and talented badminton player, finds himself smitten with Chinatsu Kano, an older student who is also a skilled basketball player. However, when Chinatsu's parents depart for overseas work, she unexpectedly becomes a member of Taiki's family, bringing them closer together than ever before.
Blue Box anime likely coming in 2024
The anime was recently confirmed in Shonen Jump. Besides a key visual, few details about the anime have been disclosed. However, it is expected to be released in 2024, most likely during summer or fall. The studio responsible for the Blue Box anime is still unknown, ruling out a winter or spring release.
With the series having been ongoing for two years and spanning twelve volumes, there is ample content for the anime to explore. Even if it were to have a twenty-four-episode season with a cour, covering three or four volumes per season, there is little concern about it catching up to the manga.
Possible studios behind it include Production I.G., widely recognized for their exceptional work on Haikyuu! and Kuroko no Basket. Given their extensive experience in crafting sports anime, particularly those centered around ball-based sports, they appear to be an ideal choice. Another noteworthy studio that could be considered is Madhouse, renowned for their outstanding contributions to Hajime no Ippo and Chihayafuru. However, until further information is revealed, all of this remains pure speculation.

Editor's P/S
As a Gen Z fan, I am thrilled about the upcoming Blue Box anime adaptation. The series has been one of my favorite manga titles since its debut in 2021, and I can't wait to see the characters and story come to life on screen. The newly revealed key visual is stunning and perfectly captures the essence of the series. I love the vibrant colors and the way it showcases the two main characters, Taiki Inomata and Chinatsu Kano.
I'm also excited about the potential for the anime to reach a wider audience. The manga is already popular, but the anime adaptation will likely introduce it to even more people. I think Blue Box has the potential to be a breakout hit, and I can't wait to see how it's received by fans.
