A Pokemon Scarlet and Violet player broke the rules of their "Dragons only" Nuzlocke run by capturing a Shiny creature of a different type.
Some gamers found this outcome quite entertaining and proposed transferring the Shiny to a different game, but the player ultimately chose to give up on their Dragon-type playthrough and embark on an Electric-type playthrough instead.
Fortunately, not all players taking on the Nuzlocke challenge have the same level of misfortune. Another player successfully encountered and caught a Shiny Pokémon without facing any limitations and carried on with their adventure.
A player of Pokémon Scarlet and Violet recently jeopardized their attempt at a Nuzlocke run dedicated solely to Dragon-type Pokémon by encountering and capturing a Shiny creature of a different type. Many dedicated gamers take on the Nuzlocke challenge in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, but not all manage to complete it with strict adherence to the rules, as the allure of a Shiny Pokémon can sometimes be too captivating to resist.
A Nuzlocke run is a voluntary challenge in the Pokémon world. It involves abiding by two fundamental rules: any Pokémon that faints cannot be used throughout the run, and only the first Pokémon encountered in each new area can be captured. However, players often choose to incorporate additional rules into the challenge, such as exclusively capturing Pokémon of a single type, refraining from utilizing healing items, or restricting themselves to the same number of Pokémon as their opponents. These added rules further amplify the difficulty of the challenge.

One Pokemon Scarlet and Violet gamer by the username torHek24 made the decision to deviate from the original rules of their Nuzlocke run, which focused on using only Dragon-type Pokemon. This alteration in strategy was sparked by the discovery of a Shiny Shinx in one of the game's starting areas. Despite the inconsistency with the challenge, torHek24 couldn't resist the opportunity to capture this rare creature, considering the slim odds of encountering a shiny Pokemon. This turn of events amused fellow fans who commented on torHek24's Reddit post. Encouraged by their followers, torHek24 decided to capture the Shiny Shinx and transfer it to another game in order to maintain the integrity of the Nuzlocke run. Alternatively, instead of abandoning the Dragon-type Pokemon, torHek24 opted to embark on an Electric-type run to accommodate the inclusion of the rare Shinx while still keeping the challenge alive.
Not all gamers taking on the challenge are as unfortunate as torHek24. Another player of Pokemon Scarlet and Violet recently had the luck of discovering a Shiny Pokemon right at the start of their Nuzlocke Run. In this particular instance, Firedarkness1101 stumbled upon a Shiny Tarountula along Poco Path, one of the initial areas in the game. Since they were not restricting themselves to a particular type of Pokemon, they happily caught it and proceeded with their adventure.
Pokemon Scarlet and Violet are currently accessible for the Nintendo Switch platform.
