The 19th episode of Jujutsu Kaisen season 2 is called “Right and Wrong, part 2”.
Nobara returned to the Curtain at 11:14 pm, just two minutes before encountering Mahito, after ensuring the safety of Akari Nitta as she had promised Nanami. Currently, at 11:19 pm, Nobara is spotted engaging in a fight with the Mahito Double in Dogenzaka. The Double observed that Nobara had probably been forewarned by Nanami and was therefore evading his attacks.

However, she was unaware that although the Double could alter his own form, he lacked the ability to control other souls like the original. As Mahito continued to manipulate his own body, evading his attacks exhausted Nobara. Her attempts to use her hairpin as a weapon against him were futile, and instead, Nobara ended up getting injured.
In episode 19 of Jujutsu Kaisen season 2, it was revealed that Nobara had a clever plan all along. Taking advantage of a moment when Mahito let his guard down, she used the Hairpin to distract him and then immobilize him before delivering a powerful blow with Resonance. Since Resonance affects the soul, her attack caused harm to both the Double and the original Mahito, who was engaged in a battle with Yuji underground.
Yuji was alerted to Nobara's presence in Shibuya, providing a sense of relief in the aftermath of the Shibuya massacre and Nanami's death. Despite the damage she inflicted on the original Mahito, Yuji was able to capitalize on the opportunity and brutally beat him. Additionally, the Resonance effects echoed from the original to the double, impacting the double twice. This realization dawned on the Double, as Nobara deduced the nature of her opponent from the energy resonance nearby.

She also observed that the Double did not attempt to use his technique on her, recognizing that only the original could do so. The Double attempted to escape and fled into the subway station. Nobara chose to pursue the Double before regrouping with her allies.
Meanwhile, underground, Yuji and Mahito’s battle reached a stalemate as Curse divided himself into miniature clones to flee. The Original and the Double both headed in the same direction, crossing paths and switching places. Yuji, closely trailing the Original, noticed the switch, but Nobara, who was a little behind following the Double, did not.

Yuji attempted to caution Nobara, but the real Mahito charged towards her at top speed. Nobara, distracted by her battle with the Double, was unable to evade as Mahito made contact with her face. Yuji eliminated the Double, leaving Nobara standing frozen, clutching her left eye where Mahito had touched.
In episode 19 of Jujutsu Kaisen season 2, we see Saori as depicted in the image by MAPPA. The episode also featured a flashback to 2009, showing a young and aggressive yet kind Nobara who befriended a new girl named Fumi by standing up to her bullies.
After a short time, Fumi and Nobara made friends with a new person, Saori, who was older than them and was soon compelled to leave due to the villagers' prejudice. Nobara vowed to Fumi that the three of them would reunite when she left for Tokyo.
In Jujutsu Kaisen season 2 episode 19, the story returned to the present, where Saori was depicted working late in her office. Her colleague delivered distressing news about Shibuya, prompting Saori to wonder about Nobara and her well-being.
Jujutsu Kaisen season 2 episode 19: “It wasn’t so bad”
Nobara appeared to have a realization while reflecting on her past experiences. In Jujutsu Kaisen season 2 episode 19, she recounted the moment she confessed to Yuji about the emptiness in her heart. Witnessing the cruelty and deceit in her village had caused Nobara to close herself off from others.
Despite this, her classmates, teacher, seniors, and Fumi had managed to find their place in her heart. Accepting that her time was running out, Nobara apologized to Fumi for being unable to keep her promise. In the real world, she then turned to Yuji and asked him to convey a message to everyone.

Final thoughts

Similar to the manga, Jujutsu Kaisen season 2 episode 19 leaves Nobara Kugisaki's fate uncertain with its abrupt ending. Despite this, her impactful confrontation with Mahito cannot be overlooked, leading some to posit that Nobara may be more of a natural foe to the Curse than Yuji.
The episode delves into Nobara's disillusionment with her village and her strong desire to leave for Tokyo. Her character is depicted as forthright and impulsive, prioritizing honesty over politeness. Her resentment towards her close-minded, judgmental village has colored her view of those who prioritize others over themselves.
During her short tenure at Jujutsu High, she discovered the importance of shedding her inhibitions and embracing diverse perspectives. Although she resonated with Maki's philosophy, she also gained new insights by forming friendships with Megumi and Yuji.

Jujutsu Kaisen season 2 episode 19 fails to emphasize that according to the Shibuya Timeline, Nanami had died less than 10 minutes before Nobara’s supposed death. The impact of Nobara’s death on Yuji could be profound, potentially causing a pivotal shift in the battle with Mahito. Despite Yuji's previous advantage, this turn of events may give Mahito the opportunity to overpower him and win the fight.
