In June 2023, Nintendo Switch Online introduced four new games to its growing collection of titles, including the classic SNES game, Harvest Moon. This update came just a few weeks after the platform added three highly-acclaimed GBA games to its subscription service. Since its release in Fall 2018, Nintendo Switch Online has gained a strong following, with the company reporting 36 million subscribers as of September 2022. While a more expensive Expansion Pack tier has been available since October 2021, offering access to GBA and N64 titles, the base NSO tier remains at the core of Nintendo's subscription service and continues to receive regular updates.
Harvest Moon, the SNES farming management simulator, has had a significant impact on the gaming industry over the last three decades. Its influence can be seen in popular titles such as Stardew Valley. With its recent introduction onto Nintendo Switch Online, it boasts the biggest legacy of the newest batch of games. However, the other additions, including Blaster Master: Enemy Below and Mystery Tower, are also worth exploring.
