The NFL playoffs debut for quarterback Josh Allen and the Buffalo Bills against QB Mason Rudolph and the Pittsburgh Steelers has been delayed. "Sunday's Steelers-Bills game has been rescheduled to Monday at 4:30 p.m. ET and will be televised by CBS due to public safety concerns in light of the ongoing weather emergency in western New York," read a statement from the NFL's X page on Saturday, January 13th.
Originally scheduled for Sunday, the Bills and the Steelers were set to clash in their Wild Card matchup, marking the start of their playoff run. However, due to imminent heavy snowfall and potential unsafe travel conditions, the game was moved to Monday at the Bills’ Highmark Stadium in New York. The decision to reschedule was made in consultation with New York Governor Kathy Hochul, prioritizing public safety as the region braced for the impending storm, as stated by the NFL.
Hochul, aged 65, released her own statement through X on Saturday, mentioning that she was in "communication" with NFL commissioner Roger Goodell and the state's emergency response team regarding the "dangerous conditions."

The NFL Wild Card game between the Kansas City Chiefs and the Miami Dolphins in Missouri is expected to be impacted by the cold weather, with temperatures forecasted to drop to 2 degrees Fahrenheit. Despite the harsh conditions, Chiefs star Travis Kelce's mother, Donna Kelce, is determined to support her son from the skybox, although she expects to be cold due to the open windows and her front-row seat. She plans to bring a blanket and wear her winter coat to stay warm.
