Paris Saint-Germain and Kylian Mbappé endured a humbling loss in the group stages of the Champions League, succumbing to a heavy 4-1 defeat against Newcastle United on Wednesday.
Newcastle took a 2-0 lead in the first half thanks to goals from Miguel Almirón and Dan Burn. The team further extended their advantage early in the second half, as PSG goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma was unable to prevent Sean Longstaff's potent angled strike.
Lucas Hernández managed to score a goal for PSG, however, Fabian Schär countered with an impressive shot, further extending Newcastle's lead to three goals.
As a result of this victory, Newcastle now sits at the top of Group F with four points, one point ahead of PSG. In the other match of the fiercely competitive "Group of Deaths," Borussia Dortmund and AC Milan ended in a goalless draw.
