Darren Moore has been appointed as the new manager of Huddersfield Town.

The 49-year-old joins the club on a contract of undisclosed length, replacing Neil Warnock as Terriers boss.

Warnock's tenure as the Terriers' manager concluded following the 2-2 draw against Stoke on Wednesday night.

Huddersfield's chief executive, Jake Edwards, expressed his pride in acquiring the expertise of Darren.

A significant amount of time, effort, and analysis was invested in the search for the perfect manager for this club. Ultimately, Darren emerged as the outstanding candidate who can assist us in achieving both our immediate goal of stability and our long-term vision of growth and development.

Darren's appointment provides an immediate opportunity to build upon the foundation that has been established during preseason and the first two months of the Sky Bet Championship. This is of utmost significance to us. We thoroughly examined the performance of Darren's teams and had extensive conversations about his desired style of play. It became evident that he is well-suited to our current squad.

Darren's engaging personality, motivational skills, and ability to foster a winning environment make a significant impact on everyone he meets. His determination and strong character are evident, making him a highly effective collaborator. With the appointment of him and his team, we anticipate a seamless integration among our already talented staff.

Through extensive discussions about this opportunity, it is clear that Darren is eager to make a return to managing in the Premier League. He firmly believes that together, we can accomplish this goal. I am thrilled about the prospect of working alongside him in the months and years to come.

Moore's appointment signifies his managerial comeback after leaving Sheffield Wednesday in June. Previously, he guided Wednesday to an impressive victory in the League One play-off final in May. Notably, Josh Windass secured the win with a thrilling extra-time goal against Barnsley. This achievement marked the culmination of a remarkable campaign for the club, evidenced by their accumulation of 96 points and a stunning comeback from a 4-0 deficit in the play-off semi-final against Peterborough.

Additionally, after their victory at Wembley, Moore departed from the club on mutual agreement. Joining him at Huddersfield are assistant manager Jamie Smith, first team coach Jimmy Shan, set-piece coach Simon Ireland, and goalkeeping coach Adriano Basso.

His inaugural training session as the manager of the Terriers will occur on Saturday, while his maiden match in control will be the Championship encounter against Coventry on Monday. This game will be broadcast live on We Football.

What next for Neil Warnock? | Prutton: He'll be back

According to David Prutton, Neil Warnock is expected to return to another Championship club this season after leaving Huddersfield.

"What we have accomplished in the past six months has successfully restored the sense of pride within Huddersfield. The devoted fans are delighted to support the Terriers, and I personally feel an immense sense of pride. Undoubtedly, these past six months have demanded relentless effort and dedication."

No one believed that what we achieved last year was possible, it was truly miraculous. Although it is happening earlier than anticipated, I will watch from a distance with fondness and hope for their success.

After the game, I encouraged the team to strive for further accomplishments and set their sights on advancing, instead of dwelling on what is behind them.

I have thoroughly enjoyed every moment spent on the training ground. It has reignited my enthusiasm and highlighted the fact that my true strength lies in my interactions with people, something that cannot be taught from a book. Notably, despite not having the most exceptional teams, I have consistently fostered exceptional team dynamics in all eight dressing rooms throughout my career. The memories of my time spent with those players will undoubtedly endure.
